The trip was fantastic in the Andaman Island, great adventure with great people. If someone looking for a crew for diving, they are the best. Thank you for everything, I hope to see you soon. Have a great Magic Moments. Mario
Just did a dive trip on Miss Moon with my brother. As usual I did my homework and read all the reviews. Was concerned about the review of ‘poleinahole1’ but decided to go as people have different perceptions. Having now done the trip I think poleinahole1’s comments are out of line and deserve a response. I found the entire trip to be more than I expected. As a seasoned diver I know that the weather and conditions can be against you however the AIDC Team always had a back up plan which solved all the challenges.Special thanks to the Dive Masters Kevin and Mark who do an incredible job. The boat boys make the diving experience a dream with their endless assistance getting into and out of the water. Even the Captain gets involved with his crazy Thai antics. The food was sensational and far beyond expectations. The overall ‘personality’ of the crew onboard makes for a great diving experience. The dive sites varied considerably in what they offered and I found them all enjoyable, especially the cave dives and swim thru’s.PS. Poleinahole1. How does the a record holding diver/buddy allow themselves to get low on air?????
Very good dive trip with the guys on Aidc. Mantas on Black rock some sharks and manta ray on Burma banks. Food company and Mark and Kevin wounderful guys. I will come back with you guys next yrar will be the Andaman iland trip. And the cock So pot so good food and Joe always happy . So thank you so much for everything and Preben offcourse. Kind regards Uffe from Sweden the Rum man…
Great boat, great dive crew, great food. Preben, Kevin and Mark really looked after us and took us to some exotic locations. Always felt self and always well looked after by the crew.
What a great adventure!6 days 5 Nights on board “Miss Moon” was fantastic, made so by the whole crew aboard. They each were helpful, friendly and above all professional. The food was amazing with the chef creating some very tasty dishes, and catering for all requests. The food really was great, varied & plentiful. The boat is well thought out & included in the cost of the trip are all snacks, teas, coffees and soft drinks. Two large fridges kept the drinks coldAnd was well stocked. The Dive guides were knowledgable of each site we dived on and pointed out marine life I would have missed for sure. Our group were lucky enough to see a whale Shark and a very large Manta Ray both amazing to watch.I would highly recommend this tripand would like to thank the whole crew & staff that made our trip so enjoyable & memorable from start to finish!Don.
I spent a week on miss moon going up into Burma, the crew was fantastic and always willing to help, the chef was very good varied and always plenty to eat 4 meals a day which with the diving its just what you need, the dive guide were nice guys and knowledgeable about the dive sites, Miss moon is a small boat but its not crowded plenty of snacks and drinks available.I left some diving gear at the center and it was no trouble for the guys to forward onto my hotel down in Phuket I will be diving again with these guys for sure.
One of the divers on the boat broke his arm. The trip continued and other divers had to administer first aid such as making a splint out of cardboard while the owner drank beer. This was later upgraded to a Pringles packet, which worked rather well.If you are a single female diver the owner may show your passport picture to prospective male divers that want to check out the “talent” before choosing which trip to go on. (This happened prior to the trip I was on)Fishing boats in every direction at night, surrounded one morning. Hardly “where no one goes”.No big fish. Well ok, saw 2 in a week long trip.Sharks are all in soup somewhere else. They have been finned out years ago.On every dive there was fishing line, old nets, rope or fish traps. Far from pristine. If you do not like constant secondhand cigarette smoke this boat is not for you.One dive lasted 2 minutes and was done in the same water the first group had just surfaced from because the visibility was approximately 1m. Tick the box for another dive completed on the day I guess. Dived one site that no one on the boat had dived before. Surprise, surprise it was a waste of time.DMs did the best very they could with the dive sites, gave good briefings and were really nice guys.Cook did an excellent job.Crew on the dive deck outstanding.Considering almost everyone on my trip was very dissappointed with the diving, I can not understand how this boat gets such good reviews. I can only assume they are inexperienced. My trip certainly did not match the advertising description. Maybe they need to shorten the season they dive in to avoid the poor shoulder periods. That still wouldn’t bring back the sharks and big fish.
Had an absolutely great time diving on the Miss Moon Liveaboard around Mergui Archipelago. Preben, Mark and Kevin are fantastic people who made the trip really enjoyable. Their briefings were clear, always took care of the group and fun to hang around with. The boat was very clean, well managed, with nice cabins and comfortable common areas. The crew and chef were always on hand to help and cooked very delicious meals/snacks 4 times a day. There was a prediction of rough weather at the beginning of the trip and Preben quickly adjusted the route accordingly. That turned out to be an amazing call because we managed to get to some of the best dive sites while another boat got stuck for 2 days!On top of all this, we saw a great variety of life in Burma. The corals were teeming with fishes, saw a variety of eels, stone fishes, rays, nudis, critters, etc. The islands were beautiful and there were hardly anybody else around. Looking forward to dive with them again next time!
I was on board Miss Moon for their end of year 8D7N Mergui Archipelago liveaboard trip and had an amazing time! The diving wasn’t fantastic in my opinion, visibility were poor (green water, 10-15m vis with lots of silt), currents were often quite strong and there wasn’t much to see (I am spoiled tho from diving around Indonesia). We saw a few macros but almost no big stuff apart from the occasional tunas, GTs and one Marble Stringray. On the other hand, corals were healthy, and on some dive sites the view were amazing with the rock formations, giant sea fans, sea whips and walls decorated with cup corals and anemones. Overall, it was a great experience. Myanmar diving is still relatively untouched by divers (unfortunately you do see signs of damage from nets and fishing boats) and unlike most places frequented by divers, sites and marine life are generally unpredictable which makes it fun and exploratory. What was definitely fantastic is the crew on board Miss Moon and having been on a few liveaboards, I would say their service was top notch.Mark our divemaster is highly experienced, definitely knows his stuff and has a passion for the underwater world. Briefing was informative and he made each dive an experience, always trying his best to show us things, understanding each diver’s diving preferences and keeping a good balance for the group. Off water, he is very personable and a joy to be around. Preben runs the boat and is always watching out for the guests and crew. Everyone was well taken care of and the small group makes it feel like we are all family. He is super easy going, generous and attentive to the needs of the guests. The staff helping with diving (Soe, Joe and Suni) are some of the bests. Very efficient and always helpful. They looked after our gears well too. Overall, the trip was a great one. Underwater might be not as great as I expected but the crew and the guests made it an experience I will treasure. Thanks everyone.
This visit I did the Myanmar trip and the Thailand trip, a few weeks apart. I have now accumulated 52 dives off the Miss Moon. If its 5 star luxury you want, its not for you. The Miss Moon is a perfect live aboard boat for small groups and the expert dive masters make it a treat. The food just keeps coming and the scenery both above and below the water line is amazing.
