This was an absolutely amazing experience. I am one of those who doesn’t put myself in scary situations for no reasons – and taking a boat out on open ocean is one of those. I don’t regret it for a second! The staff were so friendly and secure, we saw some truly wonderful locations, and the only reason why this isn’t getting the full five stars – is due to the food you are served on the islands. I’m a vegetarian and the only option I had was a sort of salad – this was the only place in Thailand I wasn’t offered at least tofu. There is so much good food in Thailand, I know this can be improved! We got to snorkle in about 3-4 different places around the islands, to see a variety of ocean life. Both Nemo and Dori was spotted! Some days you can spot turtles and even sharks, but it depends on the time of year etc. We were very pleased with just seeing the ‘regular’ tropical fishes, the experience alone is more than enough. I’ll be back the next time I’m in Thailand, for sure!
We spent 3 amazing days on the Surin Islands with Greenview Tours. On the first day, we were transferred to Kuraburi Pier from our hotel; the pickup was on time and at the pier a light breakfast was available. We picked up our fins and met Faris, who was our guide for the first day. He was really friendly and easy to talk to. My Mum is not the most confident swimmer and she was a little nervous, but he made her feel at ease, offering a life jacket and safety ring and on the second snorkeling session, he even arranged for one of the crew to go into the water and help my Mum. This really increased her confidence and during the last snorkeling session of Day 1 (3 sessions in total on that day) she was able to snorkel on her own, with no help. The whole crew were really friendly and helpful. At the end of Day 1, we transferred to a long tail boat, which took us to the campground. Camping was a lot of fun and it was great to be among nature. We saw two bats (flying foxes), a water monitor and lots of lizards. The only things they could improve on were the communal shower and toilet facilities and the food, which was pretty much the same every day, but these are small things and not within Greenview Tour’s control (controlled by the National Park). On Day 2 we got to snorkel four times (twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon) and on Day 3 twice in the morning, then the speedboat takes you back.Snorkeling in the Surin Islands is just stunning. The amount and colours of the different fish were just so beautiful. We saw a turtle and a moray eel. Our guides for Days 2 and 3 were Abdul and Top and they were excellent. They made sure we stayed safe and gave us plenty of time in each location. Their knowledge of the area was brilliant, as they took us to the best spots and it was clear they are really passionate about conserving the coral reefs. We are so grateful to Faris, Abdul and Top for making our 3 days absolutely unforgettable.
We recently did a 3 night and 4 day Surin Islands tour with Greenview. From start to finish the experience was amazing. The organisation and communication was excellent. We were taken to some incredible locations with wonderful guides. Greenview were very helpful and accommodating and we can’t thank them enough for the most enjoyable 4 days! I would highly recommend Greenview and the Surin Islands.
A very good services, we enjoyed our trip to Surin. Reasonable prices, good quality transfer and services, a very well organized schedule. Really outstanding buffet lunch on Surin, with a variety of food, including seafood, chicken, veggies all styles, incl European, if you don’t want spices. Outstanding guide and board crew, friendly and caring. Thanks to MR, Dang, a travel agent on the White Sand Beach.
Great experience. Nothing went wrong. Great organization. All the crew was very kind and helpful, you can go with them even blinded.
We had 2 fantastic days snorkling at the Surin Islands. Our children is 10 and 14 years. The guides were very friendly and caretaking and spoke fairly good English. We spent the night in one of their tents and it was really good. Clean and well organized with toilets and showers. I would recommend going 2 days instead of only 1. The first date felt hectic snorkling for 30 min in one bay and then up in the boat again going to the next. The best value was for sure staying at the camping area and snorkeling in that bay for ourselves and then the second day. Very happy there were no bungalows available so we ended up at this part of the island!
If you have young children, reconsider taking this tour. We took this tour with our parents and boys 5 and 9. The boat ride out to the island was very choppy and we were soaked. Snorkeling was not a good choice for children either, as the waves were big and there was no beach to rest. I’m sorry to say that the crew did not prepare us at all for the difficulty level. We ended up sitting on the boat for most of the day. Then the hour ride back was scary. The waves were huge, the boat was tipping back and forth, and the windshield was cracked from one of the waves. All in all, a scary and exhausting 13 hour day.
Great tour from start to finish. We booked directly at the pier. They had a special going on 2,900 baht per person. When we arrived at the pier they had some breakfast items available including coffee and juice. Boarded quickly, left on time. 1 hour to the islands. Visit Moken village, snorkel, lunch, snorkel, and then snorkel again. They always looked after us. Had towels, snorkel gear, soap to rinse your mask, water, and soda. Always on top of things. When we left smooth ride back to the mainland. They had ice cream cones waiting for us when we got back. They have changing rooms and a place to wash off. Plenty of space to park your car. This tour is to the Surin islands. Excellent operator. This is our second visit with them. Thank you.
Hello,My girlfriend and I booked the 3D2N package to the Surin Islands and I couldn’t hope for a better experience. From my first email to the transfer back to the hotel, everything was perfect. We stayed at a hotel in Kao Lak (Pratum Resort, It’s very nice and cheap) and had the transfer in the morning, upon arriving at the pier, the team offered us some breakfast Everything was on timeDuring the snorkeling, we saw two turtles, manta ray and plenty of beautiful corals. The guides knew exactly where to take us and was explaining everythingWe booked the bungalow, Christopher always makes sure you have the best available, the 104/2 had a beautiful view! You have to keep in mind that you are in a national park, in the middle of the ocean and thus, electrifity in the room is available just from 6pm to 6 am, it wasn’t a problem for usThe good provided was really good, either for breakfast, lunch or dinner, some people in our group were vegan and vegetarían and it was not a problem at allI’d like to mention the fact that this trip was also the occasion to meet amazing people, that was unexpected but really nice:)So once again, thank you Christopher, thank you to all the guides, the national park staff, it was one of the best experience of our lives
A very well run tour, well organised and very caring staff. I stayed 2 nights 3 days camping on the Surin Islands. The camping itself is fairly basic, but fine for anyone used to camping, literally on the edge of the gorgeous beach. The snorkeling (at 2 sites each morning and afternoon) was fab, the scenery amazing. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive, I was treated like a Queen. The (vegetarian by request) food was so plentiful it was embarrassing. Very tasty. The biggest thing for me was just the kind, caring staff. Though an experienced snorkeller, I’m not very fit, and the boat crew were very kind and supportive helping me onto the boat. The snorkeling is done by long boats from the camping base, which has resident water monitors and monkeys. But neither bother the tourists. Highly recommended. If I return I will definitely use this company.
