Overrated water sports. Unclear water very very short duration rides and activities. Parasailing is hardly 2 mins. Under sea walk 10mins, unsanitized helmets. The marshalls keep pushing you and behave very rudely.
Went on this trip on 6 Jul 23. This was well worth the price!Pick up from our villa was on time and efficient. The pick up location was confirmed ahead of time. The tour operator was responsive both via email and WhatsApp.The initial drop off point is on the southwest side of the island off a dirt road. The dock is a little underwhelming, but don’t let that scare you. We were on the larger boat (Red Dragon) with 6 other groups/families. There was probably about 28 of us total. We set sail about 9:30am an arrived at the north end of Ko Ang Thong Park in about an hour. On the trip over, we were served a breakfast of spring rolls, fried goyza, and fruit. Bottled water and soft drinks were unlimited. For our first outing, we spent some time kayaking around the islands. We entered a small lagoon through a crevice in the rocks. We went to a small beach area where we took a dip in the ocean. This was a great way to see the limestone rock formations up close including the caverns that are cut into or through the rock. The staff was very attentive and made sure we were all safe and had a good time. If you don’t have a waterproof camera or a way to waterproof your camera, the guides do take photos to share later. After we returned to the boat and the crew was stowing the kayaks, we got the chance to jump off a platform from the boat and into the water – a lot of fun!For our 2nd activity, we sailed to another island in the park and snorkeled for about an hour. While the snorkeling here isn’t as pristine as the Virgin Islands, it’s still pretty amazing. Snorkeling equipment is provided for you and it’s in reasonably good condition considering it is common use. You can bring your own snorkel gear if you want. For the 3rd activity, we sailed to Ko Mae Ko and hiked the stairs to see the famed Blue Lagoon used in the movie “The Beach.” The stairs are steep and a bit rusty. If you have a problem with heights, I would not recommend this activity. We were served lunch about 3pm. I can’t remember if that occurred before or after the trip to see the Blue Lagoon. Lunch was wonderful and consisted of mostly Thai food – green curry, fried rice, some spaghetti stirred fried with vegetables. There was also some fried chicken strips. On the return trip home, we were treated to margaritas and later some ice cream. The sun was setting on the trip back which yielded some incredible photos. The weather during our trip was partly cloudy and the sea was almost flat. No one got sea sick, but I can imagine that if the weather was not as nice that might be a problem for some. The staff does provide sea sickness pills at the start of the trip.I’m glad we did this. Very enjoyable and memorable!
views were good..took pics..but they don’t have an area for purchase of take home items (souvenirs) so had to look in the street shops.
This was the day trip I was most looking forward to and it absolutely did not disappoint. Spending time with these elephants is such a spiritual experience and one I will never forget. The dogs on site were also so cute and it’s obvious the caretakers care for them just as well as the elephants. So happy I was able to experience this with my mom.
Mr. 9 picked me up from my hotel promptly. He is a sweet man and very friendly. His car was spacious. We picked up two other cool guys from another hotel before heading to the sanctuary. Once there, it was a blissful experience. Every second was special with the elephants. Ms. Tak and her crew are incredible people. They will tell you about each elephant and help you with elephant safety. This is a must do!
We actually came here as it was recommended to us expecting a sky bar experience, instead it was a very popular expensive tourist attraction where you are herded into queues to experience a 480 meters per minute elevator to the 76th floor, while being entertained by a comic type media experience. At the top you join dozens of tourists enjoying a spectacular view of Bangkok. If you want to spend NZ$100 to sit down at a table to order food, you can do that. We felt very disappointed, but if we’d done our home work, it would have been a completely different scenario.
