Easy Divers – Koh Tao is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 10/3 Moo2 , 84360, Thailand
We had a great experience there until it came to receiving our cards- We did our course in September 2016 and until today have not received our cards. Emailed the company 4 times, after the first email they said they would deal with it (an email directly from Tom- the head of the Koh Tao Easy Divers) and 2 months and 3 more emails and I have yet to hear back from them. Stay away like the plague! There are many reputable dive shops- don’t use this one!
I completed my open water diving course with this company June of last year and was issued a temporary diving license with the promise that my permanent license would arrive in the mail within a month. It has been over a year and I have yet to receive my license. When I check online with PADI, I’m not even registered in their system. I’ve emailed the company several time with no response. I’ve even tried calling the company but the line is disconnected. If you look through all the reviews it seems like this is a recurrent problem with this company. Many people have not received their official PADI license after completing their course and the few that have, have had to pester the company for it. It seems like the company has not been sending the completed paperwork to PADI to register course completion for their students in order to avoid paying the fee to PADI to register us. I’ve now filed a complaint with PADI and they are looking into the matter. AVOID THIS PLACE TO SAVE YOU THE HEADACHE OF TRYING TO OBTAIN YOUR PERMANENT LICENSE. Save your money and dive with a more reputable company that will not scam you.
Looks like am one of many been ripped off by easy divers, done my open water diving course with these and was told a couple of months after completion i’d receive my licence. 14 months an still no licence plus no response from company, absolute joke! a waste of £200
What a scam. Completed my course in April 2017.Never received my PADI card and it wasn’t until I was completing my AOW course did we find out that I was never registered on PADI! They basically just took my money and it would have forced my to redo my whole course again if I didn’t complete my AOW within the temporary PADI card validity. I’ve emailed and called this dive centre with no response. Nothing. Please please please do not go with this dive centre and save yourself the headache,I’ve raised this issue with PADI directly to hopefully get this resolved.
Completed our Open water in April 2017, chased for license and got no response.Contacted PADI direct and was told not a PADI Dive Centre and doors have closed(unsure if this is true or whether they are still managing to scam others) and we have now had to email them through proof and they are now looking into it all for us.Suggest all who have not received their license to do the same and suggest anyone who dives in Koh Tao completely avoids this school if it is still open!
I did a few fun dives together with a refresher and adventure deep dive. Instructor for refresher and adventure deep dive was knowledgeable but wasn’t very helpful as an instructor. For the adventure deep dive, another diver was doing the same course and had trouble keeping up with the instructor’s finning/swimming pace. I ended up needing to give her a hand and tow her in order to keep up with our instructor. It was exhausting towing ber and my air depleted very quickly. Our dive duration was only 30 mins (we were mostly at shallow depth, only stayed at depth of 25m for a very short while). I wouldn’t blame the diver as not everyone swim at a fast pace. I expected the instructor to slow down and follow her pace or at least assist her.For the other fun dives, it was enjoyable with Pat as our dive master. He was friendly and helped us enjoy our dives.
I visited Koh Tao and wanted to get my PADI open water license. I found the place online and emailed them with my details and some questions. Very fast response, deposit was paid online and all booked within 2 days. Instructors are a very friendly and fun group, quite competent. Overall I enjoyed my time and would definitely recommend it if you have the time on the island.
I paid for my daughter’s open water classes. She enjoyed them and was the only one taking the course this June. But, she also did not receive anything from PADI and the business appears to be gone. But my daughter pursued the certification directly from PADI in the US and received her certification. So if you’re in that situation take it up with PADI.
I recently completed an open water course at easy divers in koh tao. We got off the boat with nothing booked and were intending to shop around for the best price and dive sites etc. When we got off the pier we were hounded by taxi men shouting at us so decided to hide away from the chaos in the doorway of easy divers. We were looking at the signs to try get an idea of the price when we were approached by alex (one of the instructors) he talked to us for a bit then asked us if we wanted to come into the shop and take a look. He assured us there sas no pressure and we didnt need to make a decision right away. If we had of walked in and someone was pushy we wouldnt have done the course there but alex was so polite and friendly we knew he would be a good instructor and signed up on the spot. The accommodation they got us was nice aswel i mean im not a massive fan of hostels and it was as basic as they come but it was cheep and cheerful and the woman that ran it was lovely. So anyways we started the course and i was not a fan of diving at all ha i got very seasick and i was not a fan of taking my mask off underwater atall !!!! (You have to flood your mask and blow the water out while you are 17 meters down its horrible) ha but i couldnt have done it without alex’s patience i really think if we had a different instructor i wouldnt have finished the course. I also had awful trouble equalizing my ears it took me forever so the rest of the group were waiting at the bottom and i was decending very slowly as it felt like my head was going to explode and alex came down with me as slow as i was going and made sure (when we got back to the boat) to tell me that it happens to loads of people and i can take all the time i need. So to sum up- wouldnt and couldnt have done it without alex – great experience – ok accommodation (ya get what ya pay for)- id highly recommended to anyone who has never dived before and wants to complete the course.
Completed the 4D/3N Open Water Course with my girlfriend in August 2016 with instructor Paul. No complaints at all about Paul, great fun and great instructor. The accommodation included was quite poor, but that wasn’t the problem either. The problem is that Easy Divers never sent out our PADI Licences, and have never responded to any of our attempts to contact them. Over a year on, we’re in contact with PADI trying to resolve the situation, and I see that Easy Divers Operations Manager Tom Lane is suspended on PADI’s website.Avoid this headache. Also the boat skipper guy used the same knife to prepare the sliced fruit as he used to pick his toenails.
