  1. As previous reviewers have said, the experience with the elephants was amazing. You get to hear the stories of their previous lives, how they were when they came to the sanctuary and how they are doing now. Then you genuinely get up close with the elephants and spend a considerably amount of time with them. The time passes so quickly but we had about 3 hours with them; firstly meeting each of them, then feeding them, then mud bathing them, then rinsing them off. They truly are amazing creatures and appear to be being looked after with great care and kindness. They are free to roam within the considerable bit of land they have – but they know where the food comes from (!) and don’t wander too far. We did option ‘C’ which involved making some paper from elephant dung – very easy, well organised and explained and great fun. We then made some elephant medicine – also great fun and gave it tot the elephants (which they seem to love!). Then we went to visit the Emerald Pool and some hot springs. That’s where the “but” comes in…..We had a “Thai lunch”included in the day. Before we left the sanctuary we were served some pineapple and water melon before we got into a taxi to take us to the Emerald Pool. Thinking this was “lunch” we weren’t hugely impressed. The taxi driver told us that it was about a 90 minute journey to the Emerald Pool. This was a surprise to us and the two others who were with us in the taxi having also chosen option ‘C’. We had all assumed we were going somewhere more local….It did indeed take 90 minutes to get to the Emerald Pool. On arrival we were (pleasantly) surprised to be ushered into a huge restaurant where we enjoyed a simple (and substantial) Thai lunch. The Emerald Pool is about a 1km walk from the restaurant and is relatively easy walking. We then spent 15-20 minutes at (and in) the Emerald Pool before walking back to the taxi. Then, a 20 minute journey in the taxi and a 500m walk to the hot springs. Again about 15-20 at/in the hot springs. Then nearly 2 hours to get back to our hotel in south Ko Lanta. In summary, the whole elephant experience was amazing. The lunch was good. We were looked after really well the whole day. The Emerald Pool and the hot springs were interesting. But, for us, three to four hours in a taxi for about 30 minutes of sightseeing was too much travel time. And not what we had been expecting! In part that’s our fault (and ignorance) and in part the description of the day on the sanctuary’s website. Our driver was excellent, the taxi was air conditioned, the food was good and we were looked after well. It’s just not what we were expecting or how we would have chosen to spend our day had we known what was involved. We got back to our hotel around 6.00pm.

  2. Brilliant place to see elephants. They are treated with a lot of love and care. This tourciscno riding, I find it cruel to exploit these creatures this way so chose this sanctuary. You feed them, mud bath them, scrub there skin clean in a pool (they seemed to love this) and make medicine for them. 80% of the payments from tourists go to the elephants to help keep them safe and healthy. Each elephant has their own trainer who live with them in the sanctuary and care for them around the clock.

  3. A wonderful experience, we did the 1.5/2 hours walking with elephants and it was great value for money. The staff here really care about their elephants and animal welfare. Take time to visit and help support their work.

  4. Amazing experience 🤩 I stopped off here and there was many options to choose from including a waterfall walk. I done the 1 hour with the elephants. This included feeding them, photo opportunities and a walk through the jungle with them then topped off with the elephants going into a pool of water which we had the opportunity to jump in! It was brilliant, couldn’t recommend it more if your in the area 💖

  5. This is NOT a sanctuary. If you get to interact closely with the elephants, whether it’s by bathing them or swimming with them it is NOT an ethical sanctuary, but rather an elephant camp.A lot of people have bathing with elephants on their bucket list, but this is very harmful to the elephants. Bathing is often seen as harmless for the elephants, however, this is extremely stressful for them, and it prevents them from enjoying their bath and behaving naturally. Please do your research and choose an ethical sanctuary.

  6. An experience we won’t forget. We chose programme A which was 2 hours long. The staff there were all friendly and knowledgeable. The main guy told us stories of each of the elephants and why they were at the sanctuary. You get to know each elephant, feed them bananas, cover them in mud to cool them down and then go into the water to wash them down. At the end of the programme the staff give you water and some fruit and you can watch the elephants in the background until your transfer back to hotel.

  7. Not a real sanctuary! Elephants can feed and bathe themselves! The only ethical way to see Elephants on koh lanta is ‘following giants’

  8. 4 elephants are very well supported and could not survive in the wild, they are effectively rescue elephants from riding or working. The guides are very knowledgeable and passionate. Clearly well treated and a fantastic experience. I would disregard reviews clearly by people who havent visited. Option C 2 hours is excellent.80% of entrance supports the elephants.

  9. An amazing experience feeding and helping to support rescued elephants that have been abused over the years. We chose a 2 hr experience with just enough people. The focus was the elephants and not the tourists. The are 5 similar parks across Thailand, ours had 3 elephants- would recommend!

  10. It is a very cosy place and with ethical practice. Would recommend, also with children. Good eksplanation about the elefants behaviours and baggrunds.
