May Kaidee was the experience of a lifetime. My sister traveled to Bangkok before and took her cooking class. Then she went again with my mom a few years later. When they learned I planned a trip to Thailand, both my sister and my mom said I HAD to take May Kaidee’s cooking class because it was “the highlight of their entire trip”. I can say after taking the class, they did not exaggerate. We have eaten dozens of Thai meals since we arrived here, and the ones we made with May’s sister, Polly, in our class is absolutely the best food we have tasted in Thailand so far. Polly provided such personalized care and guidance as we cooked. She and another woman who leads class (although I’m not sure how to spell her name) were so warm and welcoming. They helped us make Tom Kha, Tom Yum, Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, Green Curry, Papaya Salad, Mango Sticky Rice, AND iced lemon tea. all from scratch. At they end, they dressed us in traditional Thai wedding/party clothes and taught us how to dance. I would return to this cooking school in a heart beat and for anyone coming to visit, you CANNOT MISS THIS. Truly, you will be so grateful you signed up. 🙂
We have just had the cooking class with May Kaidee and we enjoyed a lot! We were first taught how to make different pastes to put into the dishes we would be cooking. After, we made many different soups and curries (and pad Thai yum), which we tasted. Finally we made mango rice dessert and ice tea. It was early in the day so we couldn’t eat everything so we had it as takeaway for lunch and dinner! May Kaidee and her friends showed us Thai dancing and as it was only my sister and I in the class the chefs were very attentive. We would really recommend this cooking class.
We took the vegetarian/vegan cooking class, it was a great pleasure and the dishes we cooked tasted absolutely delicious! Since nobody else booked a morning class for this day, we basically had a private one. We cooked so many different dishes in a short amount of time and learned a lot. We’re vegan and now know how to replace Oyster Sauce in the meals. We can highly recommend this class!
Had an incredible time here – this is the #1 thing I recommend to anyone visiting Bangkok, vegetarian or not. One of the highlights of our trip getting to cook authentic Thai food with fresh and tasty ingredients! Would absolutely go back just for the lovely company and atmosphere here.
We enjoyed our first Thai cooking class at May Kaidee! We learned to make pad Thai, Tom Yum soup, massaram curry and mango sticky Rice. The lady teaching the class was Very kind and energetic. We enjoyed learning about Thai food surrounded by good vibes and a Nice calm atmosphere. I realtime recommend this class.
I went for the express class and was not disappointed! To food we made was delicious and everyone was so nice! Definitely recommend for travelers!
We saw reviews that the Bangkok branch was better than the Chiang Mai branch and came down for dinner here. The restaurant is close to Khaosan Road and it is in a bit of a run down area. We were hesitant to continue while searching for the restaurant. But once you are seated in, it is a cozy place with no issues at all. Food was pretty good. We ordered a noodle dish, curry fried rice, tom kha and haw mokk with thai tea. The food was pretty tasty though we did not care much for the fried rice. The thai tea was black tea and in spite of repeated asking they just did not bring me hot milk for the tea. There was only one other customer so the customer service was a little sloppy. We did buy their cookbook though we did not have time to take a cooking class. We are yet to try out the recipes in the book, though they do look good. Certainly can drop by there for lunch or dinner if you are close to Khaosan Road.
Amazing teachers and the taste of the food was heavenly. We were really glad to see people passionate about vegan food and it was a fantastic experience
Highlight of Bangkok! Incredible food made simple and delicious either such a wonderful teacher! We made Thom Yum Soup, Pad Thai, Massuman Curry and then finished with mango and sticky roce! Authentic thai flavours throughout with dancing, singing and altogether a memorable experience for all!
Our group of seven friends from the Netherlands had an amazing time at May Kaidee’s cooking class in Bangkok. The hosts were super funny and made learning to cook for example Pad Thai and Green Curry a blast. Another highlight was dressing up in Thai clothing and dancing while enjoying our delicious Mango Sticky Rice. A truly memorable cultural and culinary experience that we all loved! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bangkok.
