  1. I was a bit nervous initially as going post lockdown I wondered if it would live up to the wonderful reviews I had read online. Lamai Muay Thai Camp did not disappoint! I spent an amazing five days at the camp. From the moment I arrived I felt everyone was extremely supportive and welcoming. Being a newbie to Muay Thai I found the trainers and the regulars were all extremely patient and helpful. During the sessions all the trainers divided their attention equally between everybody and did their utmost to give you the best training experience. I had three private sessions with Jack which I highly recommend doing, no matter what your level – thanks Jack! Opposite the camp the cafe provides a range of yummy Western/Thai food and healthy food options. Ralph thanks for everything, especially the Muay Thai recommendation back in Bangers Damion, Janice and Petch are awesome!

  2. I did my first trip to Lamai Muay Thai camp in the 90’s. My first trip there for traincation was only 1 month. After that I’ve done several trips back for 1-3 months of training. Amazing to see how the sport , the gym has developed since then. And the amount of athletes now are traveling to the home country of this amazing art to train with, and learn from the best in the sport. (Trust me there were few of us in the 90’s) I have truly some of my best memories in my life from the stays at this gym. The trainers, and my training buddies for sure. I’m not gonna start name dropping all the superstars of the sport I’ve trained with there, cause it wouldn’t be fair for the ones excluded. Everyone was a part of my journey. And the AMAZING body transformation you’ll do with this training and the Thai food will beat any form of weight loss tv show. That’s a promise. Haha!Only huge recommendations from me. Chok dee krap ????

  3. This is truly my happy place! World class trainers, international fighters, high quality classes for every level. Lots of trainers and pad time and if you don’t have your own gear it’s free to borrow. You can stay on-site as well. It’s a community and if you show up you are made welcome – whether you’ve got a world belt or just a learner. The only one affiliated to the World Muaythai Council in Samui – it’s the real deal. I’ve brought my kids to train here three times and couldn’t recommend it more. Can’t wait to come for visit No 8. Train here – whatever your level – it will change your life for the better.

  4. Excellent individual and group training with great trainers. Been there for 14 days, and it couldn’t be better. Demanding, but you’ll learn a lot in a very friendly atmosphere. The trainers are excellent. Fun, respect and excellent teaching skills. The whole gym has a family-like atmosphere with athletes from all walks of life and from all over the world. I can only recommend Lamai Muay Thai.

  5. I have been to this amazing gym for a month in July and two weeks this October/November. Both times I tried the morning or the evening group sessions. As a dyslexic individual who struggles with learning new things as well as delays in recalling things with speed, I had concerns about not keeping up or being a terrible partner when needed.I should not have worried and this is one of the reasons I have returned and will continue to several times a year! I was given, as were many others, the time, practice and advise everytime I went. As a SEND and inclusion specialist, I can honestly say this club/camp is able to cater for everyone- shape, age, culture, religion and Special Educational Needs or Disabilities… you too will build mucle, loose weight, gain such confidence and probably make life long friends! Go and enjoy!

  6. Lamai Muay Thai, it’s owner Ralph, the trainers and the community are amazing. Great energy! Such a welcoming, friendly and warm place. The camp has traditional roots and was founded on selflessness and community! It’s doesn’t matter if your a beginner, the team will help you grow in this brilliant sport. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to learn Muay Thai. Thank you to the team. Love Sonya xx

  7. Really nice gym! I was here for a week and did private lessons. Very good vibes, very skilled trainers who like to teach you as much as they can. They all speak very good English too. Everyone is so friendly and dedicated. I can highly recommend this gym to anyone.

  8. It is very great to Live this experience in a réal muy thai school with very good teachers ! I recommand to try

  9. Lamai Muay Thai stands out as a top-notch training center for Muay Thai enthusiasts. With its highly skilled instructors and emphasis on high-quality techniques, the camp offers an exceptional learning experience for both beginners and advanced practitioners. The facilities are well-maintained and equipped to meet the needs of all trainees, ensuring a comfortable and effective training environment. Its central location in Lamai makes it easily accessible and a popular choice for those looking to immerse themselves in the art of Muay Thai. Whether you’re looking to improve your skills or start from scratch, Lamai Muay Thai provides a supportive and professional atmosphere for all.

  10. For some reason I also had a terrible experience. It looks like a good gym, but the atmosphere is terrible. You feel lonely, the trainers don’t talk to you, and because of that, all the gym-goers are just as silent. I don’t recommend it, especially since there are so many good gyms around.

  11. Newbies and cringe inside this gym. Many gyms around like Punch it or smth. The boss of the gym – Ralph Beale acting weird. I am sorry, but everything i can text here.

  12. I’ve come a long way to this gym, but I expected much more. I think that same Jonathan Haggerty got here by accident and is unlikely to return ))

  13. The training is absolutely useless. A couple of identical elementary exercises every day. Everything would be fine, but apart from that you will not get any other experience. In all my 15 years of training in my country, we have never had sparring where they only work on the stomach. I did not even know that this could happen. I have been here for several months and they all “spar” denoting blows to the body. No one has ever tried to even show a blow to my head. Everything is primitive to the extreme. A very strange place where people do not communicate and show false smiles, which makes you feel disgusted. A terrible experience, I would not recommend it to anyone.

  14. Yeah… When I wanted to talk about nothing with one of the trainers, they looked at me as if they wanted to kill me. Horrible place. I came from Australia and visited many gyms before

  15. Entry to the gym is only possible with a smartphone, is there really so much mistrust of those training and the staff? This was new to me. Weak technicians, no one pays any attention to you. Only pretty photos for Instagram, which everyone does there and then goes home. The only hope is that you bring them money and then go back.

  16. An unfriendly and even dangerous place. The gym staff looked at me as if I had done something bad to them. One visit was enough to make me want to leave this place as soon as possible.

  17. I didn’t like the gym because you just run and hit the bag. No one teaches you except for the standard exercises, which are the same every day.

  18. Great location, good equipment, but the atmosphere felt off—people were disconnected and not engaging. I’ll look for another gym. All the best!
