Far took us on this tour and she was amazing. The meeting with the monk was grounding and life changing with his chat. If i could give this tour more than a 5 i would. We followed with the food tour with Far, that we also enjoyed. Thank you for helping make our experience in Thailand so enjoyable. Well be back xxx
Amazing trip with our guide Suchin. He was very friendly and informative, sharing his passion and love for his country with us. Conversing with a young Monk was a highlight for us as well as lunch and tasting of local foods and delicacies at the Warorot Markets. Thank you Suchin!! 😊
Excellent half day tour. Our guide Suchin is very passionate about his city, its religious culture and the history of northern Thailand. Lunch at Warorot markets a highlight. Thanks Suchin.
Suchin was our tour guide and he was excellent. First we started in the big Chinese market where he showed us all the different sections like fruit, fish, flowers etc. He bought us some Chiang Mai sausage to try! Then we went to this special temple and release two baby turtles to the river and got blessed by a monk. Unexpected and amazing. Finally we did the boat tour to the little farm and ate some delicious khao soy. I highly recommend Suchin and this tour. It gave us a different experience of Chiang Mai.
Lovely morning tour of the very interesting markets, would not have seen this side of Chiang Mai if not for this tour. Fortunately I was the only person on this tour, had my lovely guide – Fah to myself. Her knowledge of Chiang Mai and it’s history is exceptionally good and she made it very interesting. We visited the local food and flower market, then a river cruise up the Maeping river, very relaxing and peaceful, had lunch at a farm – ended the tour with a visit to the Temple and was blessed by a Monk -I thoroughly enjoyed my morning with Fah, it was like having a morning out with a friend. Hopefully we will meet again if I come back to Chiang Mai.
Starting off on the trip we were welcomed by Fah, who spoke great English. We discussed our plans for the day and set off on the adventure. I want to preface that this trip was booked for us by our travel agent, so we had no previous TripAdvisor research… It was fantastic and this listing doesn’t do it justice. 🙂 During the drive in the songathew to Fah’s community, we were given history and information about Chiang Mai city. Our first stop was Fah’s village temple where she described the wall paintings and the history of her village. Then onto her family’s village where we got to see making of dyes, got to work with her husband’s Grandma on the handloom, and made fans from bamboo. The hospitality was impeccable – everyone was welcoming and provided us with blue tea and homemade coconut sweets. Then onto the temple and the community mineral springs – bring an empty water bottle to cure your ills. Then we went to the second temple where we made/”threw” pottery with the village artisan. (Still have my bowl). Then the highlight of the tour for us was the tour and lunch at the organic farm. Best food on the trip by far – and that is saying something in Chiang Mai. All this to say, Hands Down, you should do this tour.
My husband and I are visiting Chiang Mai as part of our Thailand honeymoon trip. We don’t have our sleep schedules right yet so we woke up this morning at 5 A.M. and tried to plan out our day. I jumped online and I’m so happy I came across this group tour. Luckily we were able to book tickets same day, even tho it started at 8 A.M! We met Fah at the Imperial Garden Hotel and was very impressed with her warm, inviting personality. You’ll be lucky to have her as your tour guide! She was very knowledgeable and gave us a quick, but thorough, history lesson of Chiang Mai. We also learned a lot about the culture of the city. She did a wonderful job talking us through the morning street markets and allowing us to try a few things available. Never a dull moment! The boat ride itself was very relaxing, even though there’s not much to see along the riverbanks. When you get to the farmhouse, you’ll feel like you traveled back in time! My husband and I both had the traditional Khao Soi meal, delicious! Overall, the tour met all of our expectations. Fah made our morning very enjoyable and it was fun learning about her own life as well. She’s a bright, young woman! Book this tour if you’d like to get a bit of history and cultural experience in one package. You won’t regret it!
Tanya is smart and passionate about her country and we had a fantastic time learning about the culture and people of Thailand! The river boat ride was Peaceful & Beautiful and the lunch at the farm was Delicious! Definitely a great way to learn about Chiang Mai and the lifestyle here!
My girlfriend and I did this tour on our first day in Chiang Mai. We got to try some delicious local foods and and visit a handful of temples and learn a bit about the culture. Our guide Suchin was friendly, answered all of our questions and left us with a good impression of Chiang Mai.
