Enjoyed! Helpful staff who took us to another island when we explained that we didn’t care to go to pig island. We stayed on a beach of one island that we had to ourselves.
Don’t trust a word in the Trip Advisor advertisement. We paid for a six hour boat tour. The Trip Advisor listing explicitly says “Duration: 6h.” The boat driver took us back to the pier after 2 hours and 45 minutes on the boat. I have time stamped pictures to prove that amount of time. We asked for more time on the boat since that is what we paid for. The boat driver refused and gave no explanation for why he was ending our tour early. The Trip Advisor listing also explicitly says “you will get kayaks.” We were never offered kayaks. When we asked for them, we were ignored. I wouldn’t have booked this tour if they weren’t offering kayaks so that was a huge let down. The listing says we would snorkel at “the coral reef of Koh Tan.” We never went to a coral reef. We went to a small sandy area covered in garbage. It was disgusting. The listing also says “Stop At: Lipa Noi Beach, Lipa Noi Thailand.” We never went to this beach. We never boated anywhere near that side of the island. They completely skipped this part of the tour and never explained why. The boat was filthy and old. The boat driver was smoking during the tour. After the boat driver ended the tour over 50% early, I brought all this to the attention of the tour operator via WhatsApp. The tour operator was rude, unhelpful, and argumentative.
The trip went exactly as we had hoped and expected. It went well, we saw what we wanted to see.Though the snorkeling would have been a bit better if the recent floods hadn’t muddied the water (of course, this is nothing that reflects badly on the tour operators), we could still see some local marine wildlife. A tad bit more guidance would have been helpful here to know where to look. The bird’s nest islands were interesting to see, but some background information about it would have been appreciated, e.g. where the huts on some (all?) of them came from and how the islands themselves came into existence.Ultimately, the pig island was the highlight. Those pigs were lovely and it was fantastic spending time with them. Once again, however, a little guidance would have gone a long way: where to buy pig feed, not to give it to them by hand (I got lightly bit by one extra ravenous one) etc.Overall, a great tour that I can recommend and would do again without hesitation, but with some minor points to improve.
We had an awful tour experience with Backpacker Samui Travel because the Trip Advisor listing for the boat tour we took said we would be on a boat for 6 hours, go to a coral reef, get kayaks, and go to three beaches. In reality, the tour lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes despite our protests, we went to a garbage covered beach with no coral, we were never offered kayaks (despite asking), and we completely skipped one of the islands we were supposed to visit. When I brought all this to the attention of Mr. Tony with Backpacker Samui Travel, he was argumentative, unhelpful, and rude. This company does not deliver on what they advertise. Do not give them your money. You risk not getting anything close to what you paid for.
Fantastic private long tail boat trip. The snorkelling site was more than I expected with many colourful fish including a parrot fish. Pig island is very entertaining, you are able to purchase pellets to feed the many pigs all shapes and sizes also there are dogs too and again you can buy pedigree treats for them. You get given a bottle of water in arrival when you finished it don’t throw the empty bottle away just yet as there are taps outside the toilets where you can refill them (not water for human consumption) and the pigs and dogs eagerly drink from your hand held bottle. Our captain on the boat was very attentive and knowledgeable the whole booking procedure was excellent and on time I would definitely recommend booking with these
The views were amazing, best beach I’ve seen worldwide and the crew were so friendly and helpful, always ready to assist the passengers
Jango, our driver and guide was a lot of fun. This was a fantastic day full of amazing scenery and good food. Bonus, I got to meet some really nice people and had a lot of laughs
Really great adventure. My girlfriend is very sensitive to sea sickness but the transfer boat was big and quite a steady ride. What surprised us about this experience was the food included. First there was a breakfast with coffee, a banana cup cake and banana. Then there was a well rounded thai lunch. Free water and soft drinks. We loved the kayak ride.In the national marine park there are 500 meters of uneven stairs and quite dangerous. The thai host said we could use flip flops when climbing those stairs when we left the boat for the marine park. After seeing stairs later we realized this was a pretty bad recommendation. You have to use sneakers to be safe. We are young, strong and this is not something for children or elderly at all – but using flip flops here is really dangerous. Sharp uneven steps that were very steep. We managed but I just wanted to add this. This is not a trip for children in general.
