It was an indescribable moment, definitely recommend it. We had gone on another elephant tour the day before and did not enjoy it at all, it felt like the elephants were overwhelmed. We decided to give it another try with Blue Elephant Thailand Tours and I highly recommend it, it was just my husband and me for the morning tour, we got to feed 3 elephants and see them walk and move at their own pace. The guide Mr. Toto picked us up and took us to the place, he was very nice and they gave us a delicious lunch afterwards. I really enjoyed making the rice snacks for the elephants.
Blue Elephant Thailand Tours offers an incredible experience! The guides are knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing Thai culture. The tour was well-organized, with a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore the beauty of Thailand in an authentic and immersive way.
Our full day experience with Blue Elephant Thailand Tours on May 19, 2024 to Doi Inthanon, rafting, tree house lunch, walking and bathing elephants was an experience that words can really describe. I am late in writing this review as I wanted to be able to have the right words to describe the best day ever. So, the best I can say is there are no words. You need to experience it for yourself. We looked at so many options for an elephant experience and my heart was led to Blue Elephant. Because my mother loved elephants so much, this excursion was in honor of her memory. When I talk about this tour day, tears come from the shear pleasure of being able to spend time with these majestic creatures and their mahouts. As I looked into these (BETT) elephants’ eyes, I saw kind and happy souls. Other elephants we encountered during our vacation did not have the spark of happiness in their eyes. We were blessed to have Mr. Bob as our private guide. He was the best and recommend him highly! We talked the whole time, learning about Thai history, cultures, the sanctuary and care for their 3 elephants; which will soon be 5. Two babies are due in a few months. I plan to return in 2025 to meet the new little ones and spend more time with their beutiful, well cared for, elephants and get to see Mr. Bob again. Everything was amazing! We had a wonderful time with the people and the elephants. Lunch was delicious. travel was easy and on time. Our guide spoke English very well and we learned a lot.
The Blue Elephant Thailand trip gave me a unique experience of close contact with elephants. The environment of Lan Tao Elephant Village is beautiful, the air is fresh, the elephants are well taken care of, and the staff are very professional and friendly. Here, I not only learned about the living habits of elephants, but also participated in interactive activities such as feeding and bathing, which felt very warm and interesting. The whole trip was full of joy and touching, and it was an unforgettable experience. If you want to experience the harmonious coexistence of nature and animals, Lan Tao Elephant Village is definitely worth recommending!
Heartfelt Review of Blue Elephant Thailand Tours, Chiang MaiWe chose Blue Elephant Thailand Tours after being inspired by a YouTube travel blogger. From the very start, our experience was exceptional. We reached out to the company online via WhatsApp and the owner responded within an hour, this set the tone for the excellent service we were about to receive. The tour guide picked us up from our hotel in Chiang Mai early in the morning. They arrived on time (actually 10 minutes early) in a beautiful, spacious Toyota van that was incredibly comfortable. Our journey to the sanctuary included a delightful stop at a bakery and coffee shop, which was a wonderful surprise. The coffee in Chiang Mai is simply outstanding! The road to the sanctuary was a scenic adventure in itself, lined with small shops, stunning views, temples, and locals going about their day. The vibrant and authentic scenes we passed were fantastic and added to the anticipation. We specifically chose Blue Elephant Thailand Tours because of their commitment to ethical practices. At this sanctuary, you don’t ride the elephants. Instead, you get to engage with them in more meaningful and respectful ways. We had the incredible opportunity to feed and swim with the elephants. Walking beside an elephant with my hand on its shoulder was one of the most profound experiences of my life. Being eye to eye-with these magnificent creatures, feeling their intelligence and gentle nature as they looked directly into my eyes, was simply awe-inspiring. THEIR POWER AND STRENGTH IS UNBELIEVABLE. We fed the elephants twice, which was both fun and humbling. After our interactions, we were served a delicious lunch made from ingredients grown onsite. The food was fantastic, adding another layer of authenticity and sustainability to the experience. Our visit to Blue Elephant Thailand Tours was a life highlight. We could have spent days there, immersed in the natural beauty and the bond with these majestic animals. Overall, it was a brilliant experience, deeply moving and unforgettable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking an ethical, immersive, and profoundly touching encounter with elephants.Robert Vera & Matthew Vera (Father and Son), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
Mr Bob was our guide and was fantastic. His spoken English was excellent and was thoughtful, attentive and informative throughout the tour. We did the morning half day tour and it ended up being just my husband and I. We are glad that the tour went ahead notwithstanding the small group size. The tour itself was wonderful. We hiked with three elephants, made food to feed them and bathe with them. We are glad that this was a no riding tour. The elephants seem to enjoy their interactions with humans and also enjoyed their walks. The mahouts taking care of the elephants seemed caring and seem to look after the elephants well. The elephants listened to their commands and it was overall a very smooth tour.
Excelent experience. We really enjoyed it. Lida, our guide was super nice 🙂 She explained to us how to prepare the food and answered all our questions. The elefphant keepers and her made this adventure incredible.Their elephants are in super conditions and are very close to people. You can enjoy touching and feeding them. Also, swimming with them in the river is amazing. ULTRA-HIGH RECOMMENDED.
I cannot rate this company The Blue Elephant Thailand Tours, highly enough. There just aren’t enough words. The personalised experience will stay with us for life. Simon our tour guide – a forever friend. Where to begin! I booked the 3 Day More than just Treehouse Good View + Doi Inthanon + Doi Suthep + Elephants + Hill Tribes – 19 months before we left for Thailand. No money was taken and that was reassuring as I was worried of paying then being scammed or someone not turning up. No need to- I kept in contact and emails were responded to promptly to any queries from booking to leaving for Thailand. So up to the day we left, I was assured that 3 of our 4 days in chiang mai were taken care of. Simon picked us up promptly at 7.30am from our hotel. We immediately liked him – he was so friendly and kept us fully appraised of what he had in store for us and activities for the day. We firstly visited the sticky waterfall which was a lovely start to the tour. You don’t really get wet – just your legs, unless you want to! You climb up the waterfall which is fun – and it’s weirdly a good grip and not slippery (hence sticky). We then went zip lining through the jungle from 24 platforms! Then we headed to the orchid and butterfly gardens for lunch which was delicious (included) and the place was beautiful! We then headed to the caves! Wow – I enjoyed these more than I expected but make sure your mosquito repellent is on! We didn’t re spray and I didn’t expect the little ***** to be in caves! They’re everywhere all day and night please note! Then it was onwards to our evening accommodation with the white Karen tribe – now this was an experience of a lifetime. You are the only tourists in the village – it’s so personal. Only one family host so it’s an incredible experience. Our tribal lady and tour guide, Simon left us to relax and take in the silence of the jungle and get settled into our rooms- you’ll experience true authenticity here! The meal cooked was delicious! We were all so tired so headed to bed by 8.30/9pm and I have to say it was the best nights sleep! We woke early to the cockerals and the locals burning their fires. Breakfast was lively with fresh coffee boiled in the fire and we even received a birthday cake! We walked around the village then set off to the Blue Tao Elephant Village. What an amazing experience. Simon pre warned us that there would be 4 other tourists joining in the elephant trip which was cool. We hardly noticed them! I can’t stress how wonderful it was to walk with these majestic giants – who ever wants to ride them???? This is much more fun! Personal again with a lovely banana leaf wrapped picnic to have whilst watching the elephants in the water. Then we joined them! Such fun, then a walk through the jungle back to the village (1hr each way). Then to the Royal temples which had amazing views! We then went to the local market to get supplies for our dinner at the treehouse which was being cooked by a hill tribe member. The treehouse- now that was comfort well needed as was the shower! The views were breathtaking! The whole treehouse to ourselves (2 bedrooms with their own baths rooms that were overlooking the mountains and rainforests- all out in the open- if you think the trees are looking you can pull the shower curtain lol). Mae Lai our hill tribe lady who cooked our feast, excelled Thai cuisine (actually, as did our white Karen tribe host). The food was amazing and we also had a musician play for us. We soaked in the views – you’ll never experience anything like this again! No tourists again – just us! Everything just so personal. Our final day we did bamboo rafting which was amazing seeing elephants drink from the waters edge. You do get a wet bottom half here! Then onwards to the markets with the Karen long neck tribes – these are not authentic of Thailand they are basically refugees who settle in Thailand. It was fun to see them though. We then headed back to chiang mai and taken to Doi Suthep – not to be missed! Amazing place. Then Simon decided to give us a little more of his time before returning us to the hotel by taking us to the silk factory – we learned a thing or two and the silk here is amazing! He then took us to the diamond place where we were obviously dazzled!!! All in all this trip will stay with us for life. The whole time Simon looked after us and drove in his 4 x 4. It was just amazing!
We went on a halfday elephant tour. It was an amazing experience, and we had a lovely time along side our amazing guide Billy.
