Elephant green park was an absolutely amazing experience. The staff here are so organized and fun. They really get involved. When it came time to bath the elephants they got down and dirty with is. We all ended up in a mud fight!!! (So much fun) Our group was small so we were able to get a lot more attention from the elephants. The staff helps you get the best pictures and while playing in the water and mud with the elephants takes photos for you and posts then that night on Facebook for you to retrieve. I was surprised with out great they were about the pictures it was perfect! We did the full day tour which I highly recommend. Lunch was included and the lunch was incredible. We received so much food and it was delicious. After feeding, bathing and swimming with the elephants we were taken to a waterfall to swim which was a lot of fun. This was by far the highlight of my trip! I highly recommend anyone to go here if you want to play with elephants!!!! We absolutely loved our time here!
The day we had at he Elephant Green Park was truly amazing. The staff are professional , helpful, knowledge and most of , compassionate in their handling of the elephants. We had small, fun, group, and each of us had tons of fun learning about, feeding and bathing the elephants.I truly recommend going there. I believe it was probably the most enjoyable day we had in Thailand – and that’s saying something. With love, Ido Emanuel, Israel
We had a brilliant day at Elephant Green Park. When deciding where to see Elephants while in Thailand we tried as much as possible to search for an ethical option where the animals weren’t in any distress or harm. We were slightly apprehensive coming here as you can never really be sure but on seeing how happy and inquisitive the elephants are our worries were soon diminished. We didn’t need to approach the elephants they approached us and would sniff us out with their ears flapping. The itinerary for the day I felt was great – we started by making them ‘medicine’ (food to help them poo) then fed them banana and sugar cane while learning about how the place had come about (from what we could tell the owner is a reformed elephant keeper who has seen how much happier elephants are when they’re not doing tricks or being ridden). After this we watched the elephants while they roamed around their area eating bamboo and turning on taps (lol)! Then we had a great lunch as a group which was really nice. After that mud bathing the elephants and then washing them in the river which was amazing fun ! We then had time to observe them pot around the place and they come up to check you out and then do their own thing – this was nice.On the way back we stopped at a stunning waterfall which is a bonus! All in all and excellent day and if what we saw is a true reflection of the elephants lives here then I would say go and support it as it is brilliant! The staff are also really friendly and welcoming and happy – was great fun plastering each other in mud!
It was a nice day spent with elephants. The ride there was little long. Our guide was great, ready to answer all our questions regarding elephants. The park is small, but has limited number of people for tours which is great. We planned to go other park but already 40 people was booked there.so I appreciate the limit. Nice work:-)
I was on a Bali group trip and mentioned I was going to Thailand, and Chaing Mai afterwards. My group leader used to do tours in Thailand and recommended this place and I’m so grateful he did!I did the half day option for 1500 thb per person with two other friends. They picked us up spot on time at 11am from our hotel. Be patient as the drive is quite far out of central chaing mai where you’re likely to be staying, and they probably have to pick up some others on the way.Once we arrived, we were greeted with big smiles and told to sit down for lunch, which was surprisingly tasty and veggie friendly if you let them know. Then, we prepared the elephants lunch, pulling apart banana bunches and sugar cane.I’ll never forget seeing this huge majestic elephant come trotting down the hill towards us! It looked like CGI! Feeding them was so much fun. Then, we were led down to a big mud pit where we played with the elephants, chucking and frolicking in the mud. After that, down to the lake to wash them clean. You can tell these guys really care for the elephants. An amazing experience that will stay with me for ever.
WOW! This was an experience of a life time and I’m incredibly happy that I managed to visit the Elephant Green Park. The elephants were well cared for and the staff/family were very welcoming and attentive. As an expat, I travel a lot. This was such a great day and will never forget how happy the elephants were. Their welfare and health was second-to-none.
Elephant Green Hill Project is a new elephant sanctuary started end of 2018. They house a total of four elephants including a baby elephant. Visit to the sanctuary was a great experience. Was great to be able to spend a day close to the elephants: feeding them, taking a walk, help elephants with a bud bath, and bathing with elephants in the river. Baby elephant is particularly cute as he is very playful. Was very fun to be able to watch the baby elephant playing in bud and trying to steal more snacks/food. Definitely recommend a visit, would be very educational for children as well. Was guide Pat was great also, explaining many details and stories of the different sanctuary and current situation.
Amazing place to immerse yourself and learn about Thailand culture and the amazing animals that live there. The hosts/instructors were unbelievably welcoming.
Green hill elephant sanctuary is amazing! Our guide Patrick was a wealth of information! This was the highlight of my trip & is a Must see.
Karen elephant retreat is absolutely wonderful. The owner is so kind. He stopped using sprays to the mango trees because it is not good for the elephants. He rather not sell them in the market and let elephants eat them. He plans to make a play ground for the little three year old baby in the future. The elephants are looked after very well. He also stopped using single use plastic bottles. It is really a great experience! And one of the elephants got into the water and just had a blast! So enchanting to see after such hardship earlier in their lives in the logging industry, they finally have a better life in kindness. Bravo!
