  1. We spent last weekend on a great floating market food tour with Chin. While we tend to visit many places independently, we thought we might get a better experience being with a local. We were right. Chin knows many of the vendors in these local markets. Many were happy to see her again for the first time in months after COVID-19 closures. The entire experience was great. We visited three floating markets, all of which were busy with mostly locals, and took a pleasant boat ride to a coconut sugar factory. We were stuffed by the end of the day and tried a lot more good foods than we would have if we did it in our own. Most importantly, Chin was a great guide. Her English is very good, and she catered the experience to our expectations so well that they were easily surpassed. We would definitely use Chin and Chili Paste Tours in the future. Thank you!

  2. Chin led us today doing on fantastic food tour of Bangkok. We live in Bangkok, so are familiar with the city, but Chin still managed to dish up plenty of new and unexpected places… along with plenty of great. Though our kids are relatively young (7 and 5) the Thai food was well judged for them and they enjoyed it. Tuk Tuk rides and a stop to feed turtles certainly helped! Thanks Chin – we’ll be back

  3. Both my daughter and granddaughter had previously taken the Chili Paste Tour and highly recommended it. I wasn’t disappointed!Chin is an excellent guide and knows everything about Thai foods and fruits. I did the both the Food and Culture walking tour and the Floating Market tour. Chin was great in explaining everything and I had many tasty foods along the way. On the floating market tour, we took a paddled boat on some back khlongs to a coconut sugar farm where I learned about how coconut sugar is made. This is a memorable tour with a great guide. Don’t miss it!

  4. We got to see a lot of Bangkok that we wouldn’t have seen without Chin and we tried a lot of different foods that we wouldn’t have bought ourselves. She knows a lot of locals and we got to meet them and talk to them. You definitely get what you pay for

  5. Chin is one of the most amazing people we have met in Thailand so far. She is the sweetest person and her tours are amazing! We went on the food and art tour and we felt like we got to see all of Thonburi with her. We got to try every food we wanted to and our tour ended up lasting 2 hours longer than it was supposed to, because she wanted to make sure we tried everything. She also helped us change our train ticket and find the right places to go.It is the best tour I have ever gone on, and I hope everyone will choose to do the same. You really get your moneys worth and more so!??

  6. Chilli paste food and cultural tourFrom the moment our food tour with Chilli Paste started it was clear it was going to be a great experience. Chin, our guide for the day, arrived on time and well prepared for the tour ahead, providing us with water, tissues, and some homemade fruit sweets. The emphasis was definitely the food, however Chin’s cultural knowledge and history were very evident when we visited temples and walked past other places of interest. Our first stop for a taste of Thai breakfast happen to be only a few steps from our hotel. Chin explained the dishes on offer and took note that being from the UK , we were not used to lots of spicy food. Chin reassuringly explained this at each of our 7 food stops, ensuring that we were given dishes that our English palette could enjoy. Chin chose local family run eateries, some of whom had been in business for 3 generations, that provided good quality food, including donuts, the best Masaman chicken curry, tamarind prawns and Tom Yum (with prawns) that we have tasted along with some delicious ice cream. The longer distances between stops were taken in a taxi and later in a Tuk Tuk. Chin finished the formal part of the food tour with a place known for its BBQ pork ribs/belly (not that we had much room left for any more food). The pork is so popular, Chin had to book ahead. Whilst enjoying our food, Chin advised us that the table next to us were Thai TV Stars. Chin very much supports local producers and concluded our day with a pit stop at a spice shop and an opportunity to a see how bao buns are made. A great food tour, with a great and thoughtful guide, plus extremely good value for money.

  7. We had a great time with Khing! She was very knowledgeable about the history of Thailand. We went to great places to eat, saw wonderful Thai Wat, and overall had a very memorable time in Bangkok. And, with Khing helping us get around, it made the rest of our stay easier and more fun. Highly recommended!

  8. We booked the Old Bangkok Food & Culture Walk on our first day in Thailand, and it’s been a great choice! Be prepared to eat A LOT, because there is A LOT of amazing food to try. Chin brought us around Bangkok to try street food vendors and restaurants for more than 8 hours! Of course, everything is personalized for your own preferences, so it’s definetely worth it!

  9. Our day with Chin was spectacular. We visited food markets where farangs rarely venture, and the food was scrumptious. Our canoe trip down a khlong (canal) in the Tha Kha floating market was both tranquil and special, as was visiting a family business producing coconut sugar.Chin is a great guide: deeply knowledgeable about Thai culture, patient and willing to work around dietary restrictions, but most of all just a lot of fun to be around.100% recommended!!

  10. My husband and I met Pao our guide for a food tour of the old town of Bangkok in November this year. We were met by Pao at the train station and began with a short tour around a temple and then an iced organic coffee at a beautiful little coffee shop which also sold local crafts and books. I try to avoid dairy and there was soy and oat milk on offer as well as some lovely pastries which we resisted! Pao is very knowledgeable and explained the meaning of wearing yellow shirts, which many of the locals do and which is due to the day that the King was born on, something we didn’t know. I don’t eat meat, just fish and vegetables but this was no problem; he found a little stall in the shady backstreets and we watched as the owner prepared catfish with lemongrass, chillies, limes and other flavours which then came in a dish with local leaves and herbs. We rolled the leaves around the catfish filling and ate with our hands alongside a refreshing green papaya salad, absolutely delicious! We stopped for many tastings, too numerous to mention, but the standout was the meal at lunchtime in a little restaurant run by a mother and her daughter. Crisp sea bass in a tamarind and lemongrass sauce, pork for the boys and Michelin starred bib gourmand mango and sticky rice brought to us from across the road, the only one of its kind apparently! Amazing food. The tour continued with other tastings and we went to a tea tasting in Chinatown where I bought my favourite Milk Oolong at a fraction of the price in the uk.We both loved the tour, it was the highlight of our stay in Bangkok and excellent value for money – thankyou Pao!
