10 thoughts on “Raja’s Fashions

  1. One of the best tailors in Bangkok. I have been using them for 25 years now. Not the cheapest but fantastic quality and reliable service.

  2. I’ve been a faithful fan of Raja’s tailoring skills since I first visited Thailand many years ago. In the past, I had purchased suits, slacks and stand-alone jackets, all with outstanding quality and value. Now that I’m retired, my closet needs less business attire; but I still was looking forward to visiting Raja on my most recent trip to purchase some vests which I find accessorizes many looks from business casual to complimenting jeans on informal excursions. He and his excellent staff don’t just fit you in something on one visit and rush you out the door. They do an initial and then a final fitting to assure that the garment fits you like it will fit no one else. Perfectly. His fabric and color choices are extensive, his tailoring skills are (pardon the pun) seamless; and his prices are reasonable. Do yourself a favor, and between your visits to the Grand Palace, Mahanakhon Tower and Khaosan Road make a trip to Raja’s where you will discover, like me, that he is the ‘Greatest of All Time.”

  3. Many BKK tailors, but if you want top quality & details, special customer service- there’s one: Rajas! My suits and shirts are long lasting with a great custom fit. No comparison to pre-made, store bought clothes. Just go!

  4. Raja’s team and the quality of suits and shirts is amazing. Great welcome, advice and follow-up. Honestly, excellent! Highly recommended.

  5. I have nothing but words of praise! Despite my very short stay in Bangkok, they’ve managed to suit me up. I loved the attention to detail and how the suit came along in the end. They’ve listened carefully to all of my wishes and they truly implemented them. Not the cheapest tailor you will find in Bangkok, but considering the attention to detail and quality, I couldn’t recommend them enough!

  6. My order was as follows:1 two-piece suit, 95% wool1 Gurkha style chino trouser1 shirtTotal 5 days from measurements to delivery2 fittings; perfectly measured and adjusted by the final outcome—From choosing the fabric to style and final outcome, my experience was a white-glove service. I was recommended Raja’s Fashions by a friend in Korea, who is known to be a gentleman with probably the most beautiful suit/sports jacket collection. It made a lot of sense when he told me all his suits were from Thailand, since it seems like he never wears the same suit/jacket twice. I had a very clear style in mind, and have been fitted by premium tailors. My standards were quite high, and the outcome from Raja’s Fashion has exceeded expectations by miles. For the same suit, I would have paid 2.5x the price and waited 3 months in Korea. I would recommend new visitors to have a benchmark (or reference images) of the suit you envision. Dane (in my case) does an excellent job in understanding your intention and requirements. He will walk you through choosing the numerous details.A great value-add is Dane’s taste and aesthetic sense. Trust Dane’s suggestions and be open to his recommendations. There is a tendency to over-do the details of a suit, and he will carefully navigate you out of your own misjudgment. A well made suit should be timeless, and Dane is a class act. —In the spirit of transparency (which Dane himself explained to me), I will admit there are subtle differences between my previous suits and the suit from Raja’s. The difference is mainly the amount of hand-sewn labour vs. a machine-sewn finish in the construction process. A hand-sewn construction does feel more natural as it drapes over your profile. This is however a difference that is only intuited by the wearer, but never noticed by others. For the price and efficiency, it’s a small payoff that I will take 9/10 times. (1/10, I can be a snob.) It is also worth mentioning that Dane convinced me out of a 3-piece suit for the style I chose, despite a loss of profit for him. —To conclude, I am happily leaving this long-winded review not because of the outcome of the suit, but because I felt genuine care and service from all members of the Gulati clan. I really distaste haggling and profit-driven service with ulterior motives. I felt Nothing but genuine service from my interactions with Raja, Bobby, Roopa, and Dane. From personally correcting a small delivery error to intentionally checking up on my satisfaction post-delivery, these small intentional efforts is what I truly appreciated after walking away from Raja’s Fashions. I admire the 3 generation family business, and hope to be visiting over a long period of time.

  7. Raja’s are the top of their field – they have been in the tailoring business for generations and it shows. We had an OUTSTANDING experience. I ordered two suits and they put incredible thought and care into making sure every detail was perfect. I couldn’t be happier. Can’t recommend them enough!

  8. If you go back to a business 17 years later it must be good. In 2007 Raja Fashions made me a suit – Bobby measured me up over 3 sittings and produced a lovely suit. 17 years later I was back in Thailand and returned to Rajas Fashion for a new suit. Dane – Bobbys son, Bobby (with some assistance from the grandfather) measured me up – helped me with fittings style etc and produced another great suit. The service was all encompassing and exceptional. Thank you.

  9. I used to use Raja’s when I was lived in Sukhumvit. I returned and commissioned them to make x4 made to measure shirts for me.Everything went like clockwork resulting with me receiving x4 new shirts designed and fitted to my specications

  10. Raja’s Fashions is without a doubt the answer when looking for the most trustworthy and professional tailor in Bangkok!TLDR: + Service. Passion to make you satisfied, and not trying to sell and show things down your throat.+ Quality. From the materials to the final product, everything was exceptional. + Tailored tailoring. Not just taking measurements and doing the same stuff for everyone, but listening to your desires and asking a lot of questions.- Correcting mistakes. I thought I knew what I was doing and asked for different solutions and changes, which in some cases led to minor dissatisfactions in the results. In hindsight, would have needed/liked for the professionals to step in and stop me, or at least question me a bit more. (more of a me problem than Raja’s!)- Selection. The range of fabrics shown online differ a lot from the in-store choices. There is a lot to choose from, but the prices and selection is much clearer online——– I searched online for the tailor I wanted to visit for over two weeks, so the expectations were high. To make it more challenging, I had my own, (nowadays) a bit differing vision of the suit a wanted, with the style being more traditional and relaxed, which definitely requires the right tailor to make it look good. I sent the team an email before my arrival, and got an appointment in person. The process in short:Day 1: Choice of materials and measurements (30-60minutes, depending on your ability to make the difficult choices!)Day 1 (4 hours later): First fitting of the jacket to get things rolling (ca. 15 minutes)Day 2: Second fitting, jacket and pants (20-30 minutes)Day 3: No visit.Day 4: No visit (Sunday)Day 5: Final fitting and finished product (time depends on the results)——- Good to know:- Take your go-to shirt with you for the fittings- Have some pictures/references of your ideal styles- Make sure your request are listened to and noted. I failed to be clear in some requirements during the fittings, which led to the changes not being made- Listen to the advises of the professionals
