  1. Visiting elephants was undoubtedly the most controversial part of our Thailand trip – of course we wanted to meet these giants, but at the same time the ethical issue was our biggest concern. Thus, I have to say that I did an extended research about elephant sanctuaries in Thailand (Chiang Mai), and I am really happy because after choosing one that I considered the best regarding my criteria, I could see with my eyes that there is a place where elephants are truly cared with love and live in very good conditions. We (me and my girlfriend) spent the whole day totally alone with the owner of the farm and his “staff”, so the giants could act as natural as they do in their daily life, and we could, for instance, feel as if we were elephant keepers. What an A-MAZING feeling! Thank you Elephant Carer Home for providing us such a real Thai and non-touristic experience. I am sure those 4 elephants will last in our best memories forever. Thank you!

  2. Elephant Carer Home is so near and dear to my heart. I think about P’Sab, P’ Momay, P’ Singh, and all of the amazing mahouts and elephants every single day since I have left! This place brought so many laughs, and also brought me to tears the day I said “see you later”. You will have such an amazing hands-on experience feeding, bathing, and observing these gentle giants, while also witnessing the most beautiful bond shared between an elephant and a mahout. The smile never left my face when I spent my day at ECH. There are countless misconceptions in the media about mahouts (elephant caretakers). I guarantee that when you take a step back from these preconceived ideas – research the realities of deforestation, the history and culture of elephants in Thailand, and experience all of the responsibility and love that a mahout has for his elephant, you will begin to understand these people are the unsung heroes of the human-elephant complex in Thailand. The staff at TECC are so intelligent and caring and have the best interest of their elephants at heart. They provide these animals with enriching, hands-on activities to make sure they are as happy and healthy as can be in their environment. Being a part of this experience while also supporting these amazing creatures and mahouts is oh so special. It will be an indescribable experience overflowing with joy and love!

  3. My girlfriend and I visited the elephant carer home whilst staying in Chiang Mai. Like many, we wanted to see the elephants of Thailand but also make sure were visiting a place that was ethical and treated the animals as best as possible.I heard about this place through a recommendation and it really was an amazing place. The mahouts who care for the elephants are passionate and loving towards them and as we were in a group of 4 people in total we got so much close up time with them and were able to just see them in their natural environment. Part of the experience involved taking them to the river and washing them using a natural bark to help shampoo their skin which was unforgettable.Highly recommended and I hope that the home keeps going with their great care for the animals for many more years to come.

  4. I had a great time at the elephants carer home! Super friendly owner (Sinnarin & his family), guide (Phisut) and mahouts. I was treated very well and enjoyed myself from start until the end. I got to go with the mahouts all morning, feeding and bathing the elephants. Meanwhile the guide took a lot of pictures. Afterwards I was treated to a lovely, but waaaay to big lunch and dessert. You can see the elephants here are treated with so much respect and care. They can run around freely around the domain. There is 1 mahout for every elephant. When I was there, there were top big elephants and 2 little ones. They are absolutely adorable. You get to touch them and hold them as much as you like. It was amazing. Thanks again, team Elephant Carer Home, for this great day!

  5. We were picked up at our hotel and our guide spoke good english and was a doctor for the elephants! We were shown around a market as a pit stop along the way. At the sanctuary the elephants were truly well cared for and were given plenty of freedom and space to roam. The guide was extemely knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the elephants (how to approach them, how to tell if theyre healthy) and the mahouts. We could not recommend this place enough. A must visit when in chiang mai!!!

  6. It was a wonderful experience. Being so close to the elephants, feeding, walking and swimming with them was amazing. Loved every minute of it. And the caretakers / guide were very patient with us and took and retook as many pictures as we wanted.

  7. Lovely mahouts and even more lovely elephants ?❤️ We had an informativ day full of fun….watching the elephants in nature interacting with their mahouts, we fed them with sugar cane, we bathed them in the river near by, after we had delicious lunch there ? We would do it again for sure? Thank you Elephant Carer Home Team?

  8. Great setting, amazing interactive experience then a great lunch! We got to feed them, commune, and then wash them in the river, followed by a water fight! Very friendly informative staff. My best elephant experience ever- and I’ve had many!10 stars!!!

  9. I went to Elephant Carer Home with three friends during a three week long trip to Southeast Asia and we all agreed this was by far the best experience. Amazing, personal, and educational. We got to meet the elephants, walk them, feed them, and bath them in the river over the course of the afternoon. It was completely private, and the staff was absolutely wonderful, making sure we knew how to read the elephants’ moods and teaching us all about the animals. Unrelated to the elephants, the food here was fantastic – some of the best pad thai we had in Thailand.

  10. Outstanding … The highlight of our trip … Great service and respect for the elephants who are clearly happy in their environment
