After years of manifesting my life over here in Phuket Thailand, last August I finally had the opportunity to come out to AKA.At first when I came, I was not sure how long I would be here for. Several months later I am still here and have zero intention on going back to Canada anytime soon. I had never previously studied the art of muay thai. I have come out here and fallen in love with it. From the staff in reception the moment I walked in, to the highly skilled trainers, the amazing management and staff who have handled the one-year education visa I’m now on, and of course the legend himself Mike Swick have honestly been above what I had expected. I have never in my life met a friendlier and selfless group of people. They were so welcoming, helpful and truly have gone above and beyond there call of duty to iron out some of the kinks and setbacks I’ve had here during my stay. (And I have had multiple setbacks) When it comes to immigration, the extension of my stay and obtaining my visa it was seamless. In addition to this, AKA has helped me open a Thai bank account as well as obtain a Thai driver’s license, find housing and truly enrich my life beyond the gym.The trainers took me from a beginner in muay thai (boxing background) to now preparing again for a fight at the notorious Bangla Stadium which I will be thrilled to represent the AKA family. (that is exactly the environment here) The Contender Cafe has amazing food. Truly healthy choices with many types of cuisine, and of course a large selection of protein shakes and refreshments for pre and post workout. Luckily for me I was in the position prior to coming here to take advantage of the lifetime gold status membership. I have been enjoying all of the perks since arrival and when this poolside phase opens up in the coming months, the value is even more mind blowing. All of the plants and trees around the ice bath, MT area and basketball court truly create a jungle paradise for training. (does not feel like work)I fully intend to stay long term beyond my one-year visa, and honestly need to thank Mike and his team for their vision, passion for customer service and overall experience that they have provided me and countless others. Greatest bunch of people I’ve met in my life. I consider myself blessed to call this home, and them family. Special thanks to Aa Ly (first person I ever met, truly wonderful woman and always positive and smiling) Anchalee who is gym manager for her countless time and effort assisting me and my dreams, The Hulk aka Chamoi, Joy, the trainers, and of course the man behind the vision Mike Swick who is as humble as anyone in the world and truly inspirational beyond ways I had not fathomed. He changed my life for the best and this was a wonderful decision taking a leap of faith and uprooting my life out here. 5 star facility. 5 star staff. 5 star EVERYTHING. My only regret about AKA Thailand is that I did not come out here many years ago. See you around the gym.
I decided to try Muay Thai , So I did my homework and I chose over all – AKA Thailand. My decision was 100% right .Facilities and all around very clean and well maintained. The trainers were very welcoming, friendly an most of all – very experienced.The staff of the reception and office do everything to make your time there easy and nice. Any question that I had I was going to them and they always give me the best advice and quick solution.I personally was trained by Kru Chai And I learned a lot in very short time.The manager of the camp was always around, making sure that everything is okay. Best photographers – always smiley and professional with the best photos possible.The training facilities are exceptional , very well equipped and clean.From day one I felt like part of the team, my girlfriend (even that she was not training) felt also welcomed and got the vibe.I really enjoyed training in AKA. It’s the reason I love even more Muay Thai.Over all AKA Thailand Is a Big Family .I already booked a month and I cannot wait – this time my brother is joining me.
I have been to this place several times.The Gym is located in very beautiful scenic location. It’s so amazing to train early in the morning with Best Kru’s of Thailand.The Kru’s are skilled polite and very good in nature. The Management ensures world class hospitality to all guests. Every staff in the gym is so warm and loving. The cafeteria serves scrumptious and healthy meals,if anyone looking for weight loss or Conditioning diet plan,I would suggest eat all three meals in the cafeteria. They have Airdyne session in the evening. Wow that’s so amazing to get into good shape. After a long day of training one must join Yoga Class led by Niti. If you are a pet lover then you’ll we very happy to meet few cute rescued cats and Dog. Kudos to AKA for being so Kind😊🙏.I made a family there I’ll definitely visit again. I’ve been training at AKA for 2 months now. What I like most here is the setting, far from Patong, in the middle of nature.The family atmosphere and the quality of the coaching are top-notch. I’ve quickly progressed in BJJ and MMA thanks to the small groups that the coaches offer. As I write this program, a new space is under construction, and I hope that new activities will be proposed. I was able to talk directly with Mike about his vision for the club and its development, and I’d like to thank him for taking the time. And I’m looking forward to fighting for AKA by the end of April.

AKA Thailand is by far the best gym I’ve ever trained at! The facilities are amazing and they have everything you need! Whatever your goal is: wheter you are training to become a world champion, or if you just exercise for fun, AKA is the place for you! The atmosphere is absolutely awsome with such a welcoming crew of coaches and staff! With extremely high level coaches and great vibes I assure you you will have a blast here in the jungle!
I came here for the first time and I was very excited. But that feeling is gone because the people here are the best. Welcoming and friendly. The boxing teacher is very good. The atmosphere is good. There is a swimming pool. I will invite my friends to come again.

It’s a good place, the atmosphere, everything looks really good, suitable for training and relaxation. I only have 4 days left, but I will definitely come back here again when I have a chance.
