We had an amazing experience cooking with Pui. First an educational trip to the fresh food market. Then an introduction about how to chop and prepare. A discussion of the different sauces and finally the cooking.We selected 4 dishes, 2 each but managed to prepare a fish with the ingredients we had. Each dish turned out to be theist tasting Thai food we had eaten, thanks to the expert tutoring of PUI.Everything was included. Pick up from the hotel, all food, all tuition, soft drinks, water and beer if you wanted it. The beer cost about $2 AUSD.Highly recommended. I will do this again on my next visit.
We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel so not worries about getting anywhere.We were apprehensive over the market visit, but Pui kept it informative and didn’t involve us in the meat purchases. It’s far removed from a supermarket and that takes some getting used to.We thought we would be cooking rustic style in a garden but we were in a very well appointed outdoor kitchen and dining area. Even the toilets rivalled the finish in a 5 star resort. Exceptionally clean and tidy.There were 7 of us cooking and Pui’s expertise in getting all the timings right for 10 dishes was evident.Very informative and the food would not have been out of place on a restaurant menu despite being cooked by novices.Very enjoyable and I would happily do it again to cook different dishes.Highly recommended.

The flavors were absolutely amazing, and the hands-on experience was both engaging and rewarding.What made the day even more special was sharing it with another family. My son and I had a cooking class with Pui 2 years ago and had a wonderful experience.We have returned to Khao Lak this year and a re-visit to Pui was top on our list.Our family class today for was as good as we remembered.Pui is warm, friendly and welcoming. Our day started with a fascinating tour of the lively and atmospheric local market where Pui shared lots of interesting local knowledge of the food and spices.Pui guided us through the preparation and cooking of the freshest ingredients back at her immaculate kitchen amidst a lush tropical Thai garden. It was great to learn so much about Thai ingredients and techniques and then be able to eat what we had made, which was all delicious.Thank you Pui and family we had a wonderful time ☺️???❤️
This was a truly amazing holiday experience!!We were picked up from hotel and during the ride to a local market, we decided on the 3 dishes we would cook as a couple. (so did the other couples, which meant that 9 dishes would be cooked)At the local market Pui explained about all the ingredients we would need, the different varieties and how they would be cooked.After a short break to drink some local tea and snacks we headed to Pui’s kitchen.This was a totally professional setup on a private property.We started off preparing the vegetables then the meat, before going on to cook our meals under Pui’s careful guidance.The highest standards of food hygiene were respected at all times.The 9 dishes we cooked were as good as anything we had eaten anywhere in Thailand.Pui is an amazing teacher and we can not recommend this course highly enough.All the pictures are from our day
Fantastic experience!! The knowledge, the friendliness, the patience and great explanations made it so fun and easy. The trip to the market was a brilliant start to class. We cannot speak highly enough of this experience! She even scheduled an extra evening class to fit us in as the mornings were fully booked.
Best international cooking class I have ever done! Pui shares so much knowledge on the local produce and Thai cooking techniques. The venue is beautiful and set up very well. There are so many dishes to choose from, all were delicious, and the recipes are easy to follow. Can’t wait to try some out back home
Excellent all round – Pui collected us in her taxi on time and took us to the market where she explained all the food types – super interesting! We then cooked up our dishes as a group which was fab. The food is delicious, her place is clean and cool. Suggest you take a handfan if you don’t like the heat for the market as can get warm. A great morning and would recommend over hotel options.
Started off in a Thai market, excellent setting for cooking. Learnt loads about a variety of Thai ingredients. Great options to cook, lots of helpful tips. Made the best Thai curry of our lives thanks to Pui!! ??
My wife and I had done 3 cooking classes in SE Asia before booking up with Pui and we can say that this is the best to date.We know the routine pretty well now but Pui’s excellent knowledge around the ingredients and the way original Thai food is prepared and cooked made it extremely interesting. The trip around the market was really informative and she takes her time answering questions and describing what benefits each ingredient makes to the dish.We were a small group of 7 but made 11 separate dishes under the watchful eyes of Pui.After the cooking is finished you eat and share all the dishes that’s made with your new found cooking buddies, it is very informal and relaxing.This is a great cooking class and I highly recommend it if you are in Khoalak.
Five nationalities together experiencing Pui’s cooking class; Austrian, Polish, English, Canadian and of course Thai. Every couple chose 3 dishes; shopped for the food at the local market, prepped and cooked their dishes under the watchful eyes of Pui. Once prepared, we all sat and enjoyed the beautiful feast together. Food was amazing!Pui’s professionalism, friendliness and expertise in Thai cooking was fabulous. She was very informative walking through the local market choosing the foods we used in preparing our dishes. Once arriving at her very quaint property and exceptionally clean kitchen, she demonstrated how to slice and prep our dishes. Under her very watchful eye, we all cooked our food to perfection and enjoyed a very delicious Thai meal together. I would definitely recommend her cooking class when in Khao Lak area.
