This beautiful ochre coloured building stands on the east bank of Chao Phraya river. It is a Neo-Classical building which was constructed 136 years ago. It was built in the yard of the first girls’ school, built by Queen Saowapa. Later on after Queen Sunantha Kumariratana drowned in the Chao Phraya River King Rama V built this Sunanthalai Building in her memory. There was a huge fire in this building which gutted it completely. Hence, was totally restored in 2005. I loved the wonderful proportions of this classic edifice.
