How to get there: MRT Rama 9 (Exit 1) – walk around the Mercure Hotel (same side) & Turn Right into main road. Turn Right again on 2nd road This is a very very local market. If you have never seen one before, this is it! You have to Come early to see the action. There is a cooked food section. I woke up early today came for a local breakfast at Bt40. The stalls have pictures & one even have English menu. Mine was a simple noodle soup with shredded chicken & loads of Thai basil. I would try to stick to cooked food (boiled or fried), eating in places like this. The stall holder was very friendly & even offered me a free ice-drink in a hot & humid weather !! I would not come all the way here but if you are in the vicinity, have a local breakfast & make some local stall vendors happy !
We stumbled into this market on our travels and it was amazing to see the hustle and bustle of the Thais going about their daily life. Plenty of food to buy ( fruit/veg/raw meats/fish) . Walked around for an hour or so. Excellent.
This is a great little local market for fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers and meat. The prices are not especially cheap but the market does have fruits and vegetables brought in from the countryside which are not all readily available in the city centre of Bangkok. There are also several stalls serving cooked food. Some of the stalls serve a limited range of food, one specialising in Kai Pad Medmamuang (a favourite of mine – chicken fried with cashew nuts). Rather than eat at a restaurant with an extensive menu, you could look around and may find your favourite dish freshly cooked here at street food prices.
An authentic local market with all the sights, flavors, and smells of a fresh food market. There is the market itself, but in the surrounding streets there are little eating stalls, massage parlors, etc. Massage prices are substantially cheaper compared to what tourists pay on Sukhumvit! This is an authentic Thai market that is just about 100 meters away from the huge Phra Ram 9 and Fortune Town malls.
