I had a chance to visit this theatre. The buiding is grand and very beautiful with Thai architecture. I love this place very much.
This was my first time at Aksra and I found it hard to get there by taxi because of the hard traffic, to that the theater is in the same building as Tax free shop so it’s very crowded everywhere.The theater is very cozy and nice, the sound was not high which many was complaining about but for me it was okay, row 4.It was amazing to see this play from Agatha Christie for it first time here in Thailand, same story but not the same end…More of this type of plays and I will visit the theater again.
You will see an awesome stage, they combine classical music, orchestral and traditional music. With a variety of interesting attractions, such as dance, puppets typical Thai, drama, dance and other performing arts. Appearance and theater accompaniment music is very intriguing.The ticket price 800 Baht for adults.
Beautiful theater, excellent acoustics, seats 600, not a bad seat in the house. Great location a block from Victory Monument. Saw a world-class show (John Mclaughlin), but was disappointed to see that there are virtually no shows planned or advertised there. Would love to see some more music there.
The Aksara Theate located on Rangnam road.. Ratchathewi is a monument by itself with Thai architecture and minute details taken care of in its construction. Not only does this place look majestic, it is also a shoppers paradise and maintained very well.
Made a call to the theatre to book tickets for the puppet show. We were told that it includes a buffet for 800 baht. The show is now in the restaurant on a small stage at one end and lasts for maybe 15 minutes. It is no longer held in the Aksra Theatre. Not worth the visit.
No more puppet shows at all. We tried to buy tickets online and couldn’t. Went in person to the theatre and there wasn’t anyone there. A man at the store across the aisle said they stopped the shows completely 6 months ago. Not even in the buffet area anymore.
It is somewhat small for a theatre. Perhaps around 300 pax capacity. But good thing is you can do a bit of shopping at King Power to kill time while waiting for any shows. The weird rule is food and drink are not allowed in the theatre. Food is understandable. But drink is surely strange. You expect people to be in the theatre for like 3 or 4 hours without water or you would just like to see people keep walking in and out to buy water.
