This is an excellent mall for toy collectors. There are a few stores here that sell all types of imported toy lines, such as Figuarts. It is located across the street from another huge toy mall, Mega Plaza. Take the bridge over from Mega Plaza to cross the street and it is there. Look for the “Always One” sign. The mall itself is a few floors, although not all the floors have many stores. Some of the stores definitely specialize in certain toys or lines – Figuarts, Sailor Moon, Transformers, Yu-Gi-Oh and collectable card games, and Gundam, for example. Quality definitely trumps quantity here, all the stores have excellent items. I would rate this higher than Mega Plaza, for the sole reason that almost all the items here are authentic. It’s more focused towards adult collectors and you don’t find the vast amount of knock offs here. If you are looking for cheap toys for kids, the alley next to Pirom Plaza/Always One and Mega Plaza are much better options. The real highlight of this mall is the display cases in the center back – there are display cases full of open box toys and vintage toys. Some real treasures can be found. Most of the toys on displays have price tags on them, but prices can be negotiated, just like many other places in Thailand. Old super sentai, Kamen Rider, and metal hero toys are all available for sale. Not all of them are in original boxes, but pretty much everything I saw was in great condition.Bring cash if you decide to go – the vendors aren’t as open to negotiating with card purchases and will add a few percent credit card transaction fee.
People come to Bangkok for delicious food and massage, including me. I felt fully relaxation in Bangkok without a fixed schedule. When I searched any toy store in Bangkok, I found the post was introducing the Nakano Broadway in Bangkok.Nakano Broadway (中野ブロードウェイ) is one of my must go place in Tokyo. There is a shopping complex in Tokyo famous for its many stores selling anime items and idol goods, including more than a dozen small Mandarake stores, which specialize in manga and anime related collectibles. There is similar shopping complex called Always One Plaza Toys, located in Bangkok of Thailand. The shopping complex is a short walk from Chinatown. As I didn’t have a fixed schedule, I planned to spend an afternoon to there. The front door of the Always One Plaza Toys is low profile compare to Sapanlek Station, but it liked a Gundam Base inside. Most of the toys stores were mainly in the basement, first and second floors. Surprisingly, there was a Tamashii Era selling Bandai products. Similarly, there were large variety of toys, including different brands from U.S., Japan, Hong Kong, for instance, despite its size was much smaller than Nakano Broadway. Moreover, the price of some products were not cheap. The best part was some limited and old toys could be found here.In conclusion, if you have a free afternoon like me or planned a schedule to China Town in Bangkok, you can also visit here to take a look.
