Popped by on the very last day of Mamuang character display and it was rather lovely. This is not a big gallery but rather easy for access. It is within 5 minutes from Lumpini MRT Station or you can even drive and park at the place.
This gallery opens form Wednesday to Sunday 2pm-8pm. I visited it in April 21st 2016 and it is showing a video/multimedia installation until June 5th 2016. The installation is by a Thai artist that lived in the USA for a while and is in Thai, Englisg and French with english subtitles. The main element of the installation is a video on loop which you can start watching at any point a wait until the loop is completed. The gallery itself is not big, so it is always a great option to cool down and watch some art. It will no take you long and you will have done something different to the usual Bangkok activities. Expect some sort of modern art intallation whenever you happen to visit it. It is 5-10min walking from MRT station Lumpini.
A Great small gallery with marvelous selections of quality works from cool, hip, and talented young artists. A must stop if you happen to roam around Sathorn area.
We always come here to visit artist and their works, they have two rooms which fit to demonstrate art work properly.
Bangkok CityCity Gallery is a cool place. The gallery itself have various selections of talented artists from all around. The owners are friendly and very down to earth. The place is walkable from MRT (subway) Suan Lumphini Station
It’s a beautiful gallery with an interesting program. There is a library and book shop on site with some great titles and books by Thai artists available on sale. The gallery has parking. Always a good idea to check on their social media for ongoing and upcoming shows prior to visiting the space.
My experience at Bangkok Citycity Gallery was middling. While the gallery showcased some interesting contemporary art, I found the overall presentation and curation to be somewhat lacking. The ambiance felt a bit uninspiring, and the layout of the exhibits could have been more engaging. On a positive note, the gallery did attempt to create a welcoming atmosphere.
