  1. Wat Yanasen or Wat Yanusen located in the North of the city island (Koh Muang) on the U-Thong Road , At Tambol Tha Wasukri Amphoe Pranakorn Si Ayutthaya , Pranakorn Si Ayutthaya Province. The manuscripts of temple ‘s foundation is unknown .The chronicle section 63rd named “Former Capital ” Specifies that in the era of Ayutthaya , there is a Royal Treasury building for keeping lassos and Holy ropes to control Elephants call ” Badhrope” or “Pakamrope” close to this temple.Besides there is a gutter flowing through the base of city’s wall from the North part of the city to PRa Ramswamp , The ancient Villagers call”Klong Namcheiw” , which is the waterway leading water from Lopburi river into Pra Ram Swamp . The area of Wat Yanasen in present has no trench of wall to indicate temples boundary. Some of the buildings had been restored on it old basis .Main Archeological sites in the temple are main Chedi and Ubosot.Main Chedi is redented aded angled chedi in Ayutthaya period style .The Obusut is a building of Earkly Rajjanakosin period style built later on the old basis , it is consistent the historical record of the temple that appeared to be restored in Rattanakosin Period

  2. Full of history, worth visiting if you can find the time.As language is a problem, get a guidebook or Guide if you are interested in the history of this ancient temple.Be appropriately dressed, even if it is warm, as a mark of respect to Buddhism.

  3. I was visiting Ayutthaya in November, 2015 with my husband and we had hired a mini van to take us around to all the temples in Ayutthaya from Don Muang Airport in Bangkok. We walked to this temple from Wat Phra Mahathat and it was absolutely delightful to see old Buddhist relics. Really enjoyed our visit to Wat Yanasen, and it is worth the short walk from Wat Phra Mahathat. Maybe spend about 20 minutes reading all the boards that will help with understanding the architecture.

  4. Since this temple is not mentioned in many guide book nor the map that you can get from the hotel that you are staying, there is few people at this temple. If you want calm atmosphere, go this temple.
