  1. The place is quite small but it is perfect for relaxing. Even it is a ‘kind of’ museum which reflect HRH Princess Srinakarindhra’s life, princess mother of king Rama V, before she got married and enter the royal family, but the place has many bench for sitting and absorb the history around. You can also see the villagers who live around the place hanging out and doing an activities like Tai Chi, Chess or Chatting. The park also bike friendly and can reach by bike through the communities which still preserve the authentic life of Thai-Chinese culture in the middle of big cities. My current visit has found that the road to the park is already fixed and much easier to get than before. Tip: there is no food&drink shop in the park. It is a good idea to bring your own snack to the park. Better way is buying from the local on the way in!

  2. We took the orange boat to stop 5 and then the local ferry to Din Daeng. There was no sign posts and a very nice Thai lady asked locals for us and showed us the way. She said not many western visitors go there. There was lots of local shops on the way. The gardens are small but tranquil The architecture on some of the walls was fascinating. The gardens are very old but well looked after. There were some local people practising movements with fans which was interesting to watch. Across the way is a Chinese temple. It is easier to find from stop 7 and the local ferry across. Follow the road under the Klao brige and it signposted on the main road. Worth a visit

  3. This is one of the most prettiest places I have ever visited. Read up on King Rama 5’s children which should be Rama 6 who had a short life and this is his wife’s area she grew up in. She met her husband at MIT in the States whilst she was studying nursing and him a doctor. There are two small buildings dedicated to a museum displaying a lot of family photos and explaining them. A MUST. However it is difficult to find and you need to research hard to find the place. I caught the BST to Wong Wian and jumped in a taxi. Lucky I had a map to give to the driver as there are a lot of back streets involved and the driver didn’t know where it was even though it was within a 5 minute drive. It is also used to educate school children. I than walked to the river which is also five minutes away and was a nice walked through paved laneways to the ferry terminal and travelled across the river. I didn’t have a clue where I was at is not a tourist area but catching a taxi is quite easy. I hope to add some photos at a later date when I have finished downloading and editing.

  4. This place was off the beaten path. Almost got heatstroke getting here but it was worth it. There is an aura of peace and quiet joy here. We spent a long time sitting in the garden, watching the birds, enjoying the flowers. Only left because a storm came down.

  5. This is the homeplace of king Bhumipol ‘s pricess mother. The government change the old house to public park and small library.

  6. There was perfect quiet and it is not easy to find a place in Bangkok that is so tranquil.walk around the area and feels freshness.

  7. The king’s mother is not well known in history, but is a very noble and humble woman. She reared her children in “normal” manner, in which they made their own beds, etc. Her generosity of spirit and deed really come through in the museum. It was undergoing some significant renovations when we were there. As wonderful a part as she played in the life and values of #9, I think her museum deserves a little more care and improved presentation. But it is well worth the time in any case. While you are there take a short walk to the nearby temple on a big hillside, which you can easily see from any street running away from the river. Climb to the upper most temple and enjoy the view. Sorry I don’t know the name of the temple, but the museum guards can guide you there.

  8. A small park with buildings close to where the mother of king Bhumibol was born and grew up. At the time a modest neighborhood in Thonbury and in a way it still is. Royals in 1910s Europe could not marry the ones they loved without serious consequences. In Thailand it seems to have been accepted. Nurse Sangwan married the old king’s brother Mahidol. Her husband died young and never became king, the reason she is referred to as princess mother (not queen mother). Affectionately called Somdet Ya (Royal grandmother) died at the age of 94. Her son initiated the present site in Thonbury to pay tribute to her.

  9. If you want some peace and quiet, get off the (orange) boat at No. 6 Memorial bridge, walk across the bridge and within 10 minutes walk you are in this quiet and peaceful place. In the museum you learn a lot about the mother of two kings, King Ananda and King Bhumipol.

  10. Small park but Very peaceful and silent place we took many pictures💓if u want peace its nice we go with our friends❤️👯‍♀️
