  1. As many have shared finding it is the biggest challenge. I found Google maps gave the best location. It is across the street from the park that is adjacent to Metro/BTS stations by Catuchak market. If you are leaving from the transit station stops cross over a bridge heading towards the ‘Park Office’ Cross over Kamphaeng Phet Rd. There is a gate you can enter and wander along the paths (use Google to get a sense of direction as there are no signs) and you will find the building. They have some nice displays and the butterfly enclosure is nicely laid out although not a lot of butterflies, at least on my visit. Glad I saw it but not something I would go out of my way to see again. The park area and trails though are outstanding so if you want to escape the city, this is the place.

  2. I’ve been here quite a few times over the years and always found it an enjoyable experience with tonnes of butterflies all over the place. However, decided to stop by whilst bike riding thru the park today and was extremely disappointed… i counted 3 or 4 butterflies in the whole place. We were in and out in less than 5 minutes! Don’t know the reason as no staff to ask. I would not recommend this place now. Such a shame.

  3. Make some time for a visit when at the Chatuchak Market. We spent a few hours in Chatuchak and Wachirabenchathat Parks including some time at this free enclosure. Use Google maps to help you find it.

  4. Nice and interesting butterfly garden in the heart of Queen Sirkit Park. Not that big, but still very nice to visit and walk through. Great escape from the hostile and bustle of Bangkok. Our children loved it.

  5. This insectarium is located inside of Wachirabenchathat Park and free to visit. There’s an indoor area with AC with some displays of butterflies, beetles and live caterpillars. There are also information boards, but everything is in Thai. The indoor area leads into the garden. The garden is very nice, but there really weren’t that many butterflies.

  6. Queen Sirikit ParkOpening hours 8:30am to 4:30pm Closed MondayAdmission: FREEBTS station Mo ChitMRT station KampaengpetchWe caught skytrain to Mo Chit costing 15 baht each. Ticket dispensing machines very easy and ticket booth very helpful if no small change. Children under 12 travel free. The popular Chatachak weekend markets are here but we preferred a more relaxing pace with an active 2 year old. We walked through the Gardens, seeing large monitor lizards and squirrels. Locals directed us across the Kampaeng Phet 3rd road into Queen Sirikit Park. Pleasant walk through leafy park to the butterfly house. Prams need to be left outside. There is an interesting exhibition on how insects help humankind and what produce is made from them. From the exhibition area you enter into the garden enclosure where there is an abundance of butterflies and flowers and a waterfall. You can wait at the feeding stations to see lots of butterflies or just walk around and keep your eyes open. The exit is directly out of the enclosure. We all loved this oasis and remarkable that there is no charge.Quite close to here are the Children’s Discovery Museum and MIXT shopping centre. Plan a family day out and finish in the air-conditioning MIXT for coconut icecream and lunch and drinks. There are some souvenirs to purchase as well.

  7. I happened to be in the park and walked past. Entry is free so I thought why not. It is pleasant enough but not a must see. The lady on the counter insists that you register with a QR code. Sorry but you don’t need my surname and phone number… I was happy to give age range and nationality but faked the rest!
