This speedboat is operated by jolly Travels and is the only company that is not a direct service to Koh Lipe from Pakbara pier. There are two 15-25 mins stops which is not great after a long flight and a hour and half bus journey.
This speed boat company should be avoided as much as possible.They managed to transfer our lugage to a different boat and made us miss our connecting flight.The staff could not speak a word of english and was totally inefficient and unhelpful…
We booked a tranfer from Krabi to koh Lipe with jolly travel and they use baramee speed boat to get to the island. Unfortunately, our boat was delayed anyways and made two stops at small island on the way to Lipe, which made the journey even longer. Could be rated as a nice idea but as at leat 2/3 of the passagers rather stay at the boat and we were late from the start, these stops are just unnecessary.
We have taken this boat a couple of times in the last few years. While packed in, the boat itself is fine and fast. The main problem is that the boat stops at 2 islands on the way over (not on the way back), when really you just want to get to Koh LIpe. Most tourists are like stupid sheep and they just get out because they are told to and the trip drags on. We refused to get off and learned that it may be the Government who are making the boat companies do the stops – in an attempt to try to promote the area. Either way, it’s a poor experience and one that needs to stop. Getting to Koh Lipe is hard enough and this experience makes it worse. The approach is misguided and if it continues I would expect tourism to Koh Lipe to be adversely impacted. The boat companies might want to lobby the government to fix the problem.
