  1. One could say that there are enough wats in this area but this is a special one. It is Khmer style and you can climb up on it to have e better view of the Buddha and also have a very nice view around into the historical park. Beware though the stairs are steep and I mean it.

  2. This is special Khmer style, there are stairs that you can climb to get a better view, please take care as the steps are steep, and be very careful on the way down and make sure you locate the position of the stairs. Once you have climbed up the view is very good, you can see all over the park.

  3. The temple is large and relatively well preserved. As per the locals, this is one of the oldest temples in the area. The temple is surrounded by a wall with the gate topped by a four faced Brahma statue. The entrance leads to a prayer hall or vihara of which only the pillars and walls survive. A seated Buddha statue is placed at the end of the prayer hall. Past this is the high main prang of the temple in Khmer style with very steep steps leading to the top. Beyond the main prang is the base of a chedi followed by another prayer hall with a seated Buddha image at the end. To the one side of the chedi is a temple holding a standing Buddha image. The complex also has many smaller shrines and chedis in the four corners. The temple is definitely not to be missed if you are visiting the area. Budget at least a couple of hours to enjoy it fully.

  4. This Temple is very beautiful views if you can climb up on to have a nice photos of the Buddha and beautiful views around all over the Park. Peaceful and beautiful style. We had an amazing time at Phra Si Ratana Temple In Sukhothai Thailand ??

  5. Just brilliant! Gave my partner and I a real insight into Thai history; the Sukhothai dynasty. It was an absolute pleasure…a dream if you like weaving around the place on a couple of bycicles. There was a particular photo we took overlooking a picturesque lake and a mini island. It was display picture material!Hardly any queue and terrific value for what you’re stepping or riding into. A must if you’re hanging around Northern Thailand.

  6. luckily I had a good guide who took me to all these temples , if I was on my own I wouldn’t of seen them all

  7. The temple is stunning and well worth coming to see. You are spoilt for choice in Sukhothai but this is a “must see”. It is large and you need to ensure you have time to see around it and to spend time relaxing and taking in the views around the site. Great photo opportunities.

  8. Easily accessible from New Sukhothai Bus Station (45THB). Easy walk to this temple from the drop-off point but rent a bike to get to the Historical Park. Cross the suspension bridge and the temple is in front of you. 20THB entrance fee. Lots of great photo opportunities.

  9. This stunning temple towers above the surroundings, and is a specatcular example of Khmer influence and architecture. A must-see example of a well preserved temple. Worth renting a bike to see this and other monuments at the same time.

  10. This is a large historic temple complex was built in the early 13th century AD, is located to the southeast of Si Satchanalai town. The decorative stucco bearing the Bayon art style of ancient Khmer found at the main entrance of the temple point out clearly that Wat Phra Si Ratana was originally founded before Sukhothai kingdom.
