City Wall is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Ratchadamnoen Road, Thailand
Yes it is in deed the city-wall , but just what is left of it…there is still more then this little brimstones everone is locking on, next to the former city-prison but that one is gone now too. Now if you go to see it, go alongside it until the new OTOP – Center and behind. You get a glue how the city has been shaped by time in size and direction. Make a picture and turn around, there is lots of next by it.
It’s an old wall left in the city. Located next to river & park. Study a bit of its history will make your visit more enjoyable. Take a walks along the wall & discover the important of this city a few hundred years ago
Visited the remains of the City Wall along the main road of Nakhon Si Thammarat where all the historical buildings are located. Not much to see but I guess it showed how important Nakhon Si Thammarat or Ligor at that time was. You will probably spend just a few minutes to take some photos there.
Old wall & fort in the city. Study a bit on its history before visiting will help you to understand more on the field. It would great if more information board were setup for tourists.
Really only a remnant of the old wall but still gives you a feeling for how important Nakhon Si Thammarat was in ancient times. Taller than the wall at Chiang Mai and a little more impressive.
A part of thai history in the center ofThe City Well maintained with nice lighting Surrounding the wallThere is also a street restaurant inFront !So romantic Don t miss this spot !!
Spent about 30 mins at the City Wall. There was no place to really walk on the City Wall, we just climbed it and stared at the city from atop. It made me think that we were missing seeing some of the wall since the part we toured seemed so bland and uninspiring. Anyway, at least we can say we crossed this off our list.
It is always interesting to see the city wall’s of Thailand and wonder what life was like “back when”. The wall at Nakhon Si Thammarat is located near the Kings former retreat on the river. The wall is a great photo opp.(Note to Trump fan’s) The wall works, I could not find a single Mexican in the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat. 555
You don’t need to spend a long time here but it’s certainly worth a closer look instead of just driving past. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to first visit the National Museum in Nakhon Si Thammarat first and learn something about the very interesting history of the city and province. The wall provides good photo opportunities and parts of the wall can be found either side of the Ratchadamnoen Rd but take care crossing as it can be a bit of a racetrack! The wall is floodlit at night time which adds to the atmosphere.Well worth a look.
Nice for a few photos. Look wonderful during the evening. Good to have a look while having a walk around town
