Nakhon Si Thammarat National Museum is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Ratchadamnoen Road , Thailand
A good place to learn the history of Nakhon Si Thammarat. 150 THB admission fee. I will come back soon.
A lot of dusty and tarnished artefacts in China, glass and bronze. Labels mostly in Thai and English. Illustrated Thai trade with Sri Lanka, Vietnam etc. Free entrance but a donation box. There were also some random shells and stuffed turtles.
Is a good place to study history of Nakhon Si Thammarat Like here, there are antiques. And lecturer to give knowledge, to record the ancient objects But do not take pictures with ancient objects Come, really useful. There are many items in the museum and very beautiful.very impressed. To save images of ancient objects But do not take pictures with ancient objects Come, really useful.
This museum is not far from the capital district of Nakhon Si Thammarat. It is the place where you can learn about history of the early man in Nakhon Si Thammarat including ways of life, traditions, beliefs, and appliances for their daily life in the past. I enjoyed seeing a variety of prehistoric objects like necklaces, bowls, bed, and drum. I go there with my friend. It was my best experience there. This is one of the best museum I’ve ever visited.
This museum is awesome. The day I visited the museum did not have too many people. It took around 2 hours to walked around and saw the exhibition. I saw so many collections from the pre-history era such as jars, necklaces, and households which are antiques. The staff in the museum was very helpful to provide any information. One of the most interesting is the Thai house model which shows local people’s lifestyles from birth to death. Moreover, it shows the ceremony such as the marriage ceremony. I highly recommend this museum,If you are the one who loves history. This museum will not let you down.
I have learned many things about history in this museum. I visited this place yesterday. Inside the museum, there are a lot of antique objects such as pottery, cannons, swords, weapons, and statues of monarchs in the past. The most eye-catching is the wax figures which presents the local people lifestyles in different events. Those wax figures are very special. When I walked pass by them, the sound automatically plays. Like a statue of a woman giving childbirth. When I walked through, a child was crying as the sound plays automatically. In the marry ceremony events, there was a sound of monks playing. When I walked past Menorah figures, there was a sound too. I like this place very much. If you come to Nakohn Si Thammarat, do not miss this place.????️
Easy for parking.Good visit to try to understand the local history and culture.Set aside a couple of hours for this visitThere are video you can choose either Thai or English from on show
We are familiar with the national museums in Thailand, as we both are national museums of Bangkok volunteers. We have been impressed by the quality of the exhibition in this museum, display comments, and those available through bar codes.Entrance fee: ฿ 150.-
We visited the museum on a Friday afternoon and had the place to ourselves until a tour bus of students pulled up. The museum has some great artifacts and exhibits (we especially liked the ones about marriage and daily life in the province). It is definitely not wheelchair accessible as you go up stairs, outside and up and down multiple staircases to get to different areas for exhibits. Only small gripe was charge for us was 150 baht per person but Thais only pay 30 baht per person. Not a huge deal as it is a government museum and Thai taxes help to pay for it, dual pricing is just a way of life here.
After visiting the 256’ Chedi at the Wat Phra, we walked 1 km south to this 1974 museum. Its 12 galleries occupy 2 temple-like structures near the abandoned Wat Suan Luang, focusing on the unique culture developed since the 5th C in the south of Thailand, a blend of Buddhism and Hinduism. After paying 150 Thb each, we toured the Prehistoric Gallery displaying local Neolithic objects, then progressed through both floors with excellent artifacts from all the centuries to the modern era’s raised pattern cloth weaving and Nielloware weaving using silver and gold.A 2nd temple showed enlarged displays of traditional living, working and housing to include life passages, marriage and religious ceremonies. This is a very worthwhile historical and cultural museum using Thai and English descriptions.
