I live and work in koh Kood, today I took the ferry in the morning to leam sok pier and had to take the last boat back to koh Kood, the last boat is the speedboat, the woman at the counter asked me where I lived, I told her, and she assured me a taxi would take me to my home on the island. On buying the ticket the lady tip-exed out the price on the ticket and charged me 200 baht more than the usual price, I started to argue with her that it was not the price I usually payed, she just said pay pay! As the ferry was about to leave I decided to just get on, once we arrived at the island the boat stopped at a few piers, then turned back and made its final stop on the river, the boat staff never said a word to me, finally I asked how I would get home, they just said taxi taxi, so I waited and waited, nothing, finally 45 minutes later a taxi driver arrives but he wants to charge me to get home, he just sits and laughs at me, as do the boat staff, the taxi driver suggests I rent a motorbike to get home.I tell them I have a motorbike, and I live on the island as I have done for many months.A completely incompetent company, do not use them if you have any sense at all.
We booked the fast speed ferry boat both ways to and back from Koh Kood. The first trip was ok and almost as per the schedule. The return was a bit of a nightmare. The resort messed up with our departure and that of other guests, but they were in touch with Ko Kut express. I called four times. They said they’d call back but never did. They said they’d come to take us to the ferry but never did. Instead, a small speedboat came. It was so crowded that some stayed on the open part, luggage was also in the open part; no life vests for all of us. It also got us over one hour later than what we paid for. Not really trustworthy.
Unfriendly staff, they sat on my bag which had expensive camera equipment in it, an absolute joke of a company, do not waste your time or money. They only drop you at certain piers, so if your hotel is not near the pier you got to figure out yourself how to get to your hotel.
Got left in a laneway for an hour with no info waiting for van. Then driver drove in circles around Pattaya for an hour and a half. He had no idea where to go. Got out and caught a taxi. Avoid this mob. Boat trip was OK though…
While staying on the island, you can have a day trip to snorkel around or to nearby islands such as Koh Rang and its vicinities. You can also kayak along the coastal area or along Khlong Chao waterway. Along the River, you will see marine lives around the dense mangrove forest area.
