  1. The boats are very clean. There are lots of seats and the boat is a different way to travel and see the scenery. However unfortunately the schedule and timetable goes out of the window! You are herded on to the boat in a very dangerous manner and literally have 30-45 seconds to either hop on or hop off!!!! They won’t hang around and will get impatient. The staff are utterly rude! No smiles, no ‘hellos’ no ‘thanks yous’. It’s like you’re an inconvenience. You are also asked to show your tickets repeatedly! Sometimes three times within a couple of minutes. You’re also spoke to in a very condescending manner. To be clear this wasn’t just our experience, it was a universal experience observed across all differing tourists. We bought our tickets online before we even arrived in Bangkok. We thought this method would be streamline; it wasn’t! The woman serving us was abrupt, rude and continued serving other people as she wasn’t entirely sure what to do!Since we arrived in Thailand ten days ago, we have given 5 star reviews for everything and everyone! This is absolutely not the case for this company and will not be the case for many attractions in Bangkok!!!! Many of the population here are absolutely rude, including in hotels!Such a shame! We will not be returning to spend our money in Bangkok again, and instead travel to other parts of Thailand where they’re happy to have you.

  2. I bought a one day river pass ticket and had an incredible experience. The sceneries along the river was absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to explore the river at a reasonable price.

  3. very convenient and efficient. can be a bit difficult finding the piers. I would like to see an air conditioned section, maybe at a higher cost.

  4. We were totally shocked! And still in shock.Shocked by the horrified experience we just had at the CHAO PHRAYA TOURIST BOAT ticket booth earlier today (around 11 am on 4/5/24). What a rude, uncivilized, and hostile customer service woman they have there, we felt discriminated by her behavior toward us, and whatever hidden agenda she has. I normally don’t write reviews but I feel this needs to be shared so no one would experience what I have just experienced that can ruin the trip. This is my first trip to Thailand, today is the 2nd day of the trip. Waking up with total joy and couldn’t wait to see what Bangkok has to offer. We are group of 6 women and we purchased the $16 thb tickets to go visit the War Arun temple which we read online as many people and travel sites suggested. After purchased the tickets we then found out those tickets are sitting outside on the deck, also we have to wait half an hour for the boat to arrived. When we found out there’s another boat leaves a bit earlier but the ticket has difference price which is $30 thb each (which information wasn’t provided to us when we were trying to buy our tickets). We went back to the booth and try to see if we can exchange our tickets for the boat that is leaving sooner and we were willing to pay for the price difference. The girl sitting on the front booth is nice and pleasant and she is willing to let us exchange the tickets and pay for the differences, just as we were glad about it, a lady sitting in the back of the booth came out and told us that we can not exchange these tickets, and her sole reason was that she suggested us to buy the $30 tickets and we bought the $16 tickets. We tried to explain to her our new found informations but her said it’s the rule and said we just can not exchange it (we guessed she’s that girl’s supervisor based on her stern and unwelcoming attitude toward us). And then strange thing she said also was that only if we destroy/tearing up our $16 tickets then we are allowed to buy new tickets. As I have travelled to few countries I have never heard of such things, so I questioned her and she became very angry and raised her voice. One of my friend who wanted to avoid further confrontations she went ahead and teared up her ticket in order to get a new ticket for the boat trip so we can all move forward with our day plan, my friend then said to that lady can I get a new ticket, and believe or not (no one would ever guessed), that hostile lady replied “I don’t want to sell you the ticket”, “I’m not going to sell you any tickets”. We were shocked and confused with what we were hearing. As I have never experienced anything like this, I then said to her “this is not a good customer service practice of you”. What I didn’t expect next was that she stormed and came right out of the booth standing real close to me and shout at me “so what do you want”, I was totally shocked and by her uncivilized behavior. I had such mix feeling when that happened I wanted to say something and let her know what she’s doing isn’t right, but my friends pulled me away from her to avoid making more scenes (already some people were looking wondering what happened). So now we still have 5 tickets and can’t go on the boat trip because we are 1 ticket short. And we don’t feel comfortable to get on their boat especially after she stormed out of the ticket booth like she’s looking for a fight. We are tourist in a foreign country who don’t want any trouble. Not sure what’s going on with that woman but she totally ruined our boat trip, our trip plan. I simply hope her boss will find out what had happened today, as that woman is on the front line of their customer service. Her unruly and aggressive behavior should really be looked at.

  5. It was our first time in Bangkok and we heard about this “hop on and hop off” boat called Chao Phraya Tourist Boat (not Express Boat) by local vloggers on YouTube. They recommended it, so we tried it. We took BTS from our hotel and got off at BTS Saphan Taksin station. The pier is right below the station as you exit. (Walk towards the river.) On the far left of the pier is the Ticket booth for Chao Phraya Tourist Boat. We bought a One Day River Pass for 150 THB. They staple your receipt onto their brochure. (Don’t lose it.) Soon the boat arrived and we got on. Since the weather was hot, we decided to sit “inside” the boat which was actually quite nice. It was open window so we caught the nice river breeze. We were going to The Grand Palace for our first stop. If you sit on the left side of the boat, you’ll see ICON Siam and Wat Arun along the way before reaching The Grand Palace. They also make a pier stop at Ratchawong for Chinatown and Rajinee for Wat Pho and Museum Siam. After visiting The Grand Palace, we got back onto the boat and went to ICON Siam for lunch before catching the boat again to head back to Sathorn pier where it was an easy walk to BTS Saphan Taksin. On another day, we purchased another One Day River Pass and visited Wat Arun and back to ICON Siam. Highly recommend getting an All Day River Pass (peace of mind), especially if this is your first time to Bangkok. We enjoyed the experience.

  6. This is a tourist hop on hop off boat that takes you through the Chao Phraya river of Bangkok. I recommend it only if you mr hotel is nearby one of the piers and if this is your first day in Bangkok. The most interesting places this tour can take you are The Grand Palace, Wat Arun and Iconsiam. They say this tour can take you to Asiatique Riverfront, but the only time it takes you is from 4pm, and based on their brochure there is no return trip from Asiatique, and it is hard to get the information from the staff if you don’t speak Thai. Also I spent 150baht on unlimited day tour, while you can take a local ferry service for 5baht for each stop. Doesn’t worth the money to me.

  7. Terrible service. Hard to find map. Boat waits from 60 seconds and then is gone. Map given is bad. Impossible to find the peirs. Waste of money.

  8. We only used this for one stop to get to Wat Arun from our hotel. It was quite empty and we sat on the top deck to enjoy the view. We couldn’t get much information on times etc so we didn’t use if after this one journey.

  9. Great way to see the city and hop on and off at your leisure. Amazing sights by the river and all within walking distance of major attractions.
