That’s a very nice place, and there are 2 different ways to face this tour.1. Just visiting the Camp, to see elephants, knowing their history and why they are in camps nowaday. To see how they treat the animals and how expensive it is to exist.2. Interaction with the animals, riding, see the shows and buying souvenirs. Some people are against these practices, but as I wrote above, there’s a choice. Somehow money need to come to keep them alive. In the future maybe they will find a good solution, now is what they have.
I visited this place with my husband while on a tour of Thailand and thought it was great, but than a local informed me that this place is a fraud. They pretend it is a sanctuary when they really use the same abused elephants from Maetaman Elephant Adventure that are abused! I am LIVID that I paid for a FAKE experience. I told my husband we need to demand a refund and hopefully others do this as well.
Up close experience with elephants. What they eat, get to bathe them in the river. Only elephants should wear Ivory.
What a great afternoon. Walked with the elephants (no riding allowed). Fed them rice balls and sugar cane. Also learned how this group recycles elephant poo into paper, books and picture frames. That was very cool!!! But the highlight was washing the elephants with natural soap from a type of wood and feeding them rice balls and sugar cane. Hungry little devils. A highlite of my trip!!
Fantastic! Start with changing to provided clothing to keep from soiling your own clothes. Then on to elephant hugs, a nice elephant museum, manufacture of elephant “poopoo paper, preparing elephant nutritional balls and presentation of elephant medicine, up close and personal feeding of elephants, and then following the elephants into the river to bathe them. You can’t get any closer to elephants than this , and the guides and elephants are top-notch. This was the experience of a lifetime for us!
I did this tour with my adult son at the recommendation of our tour guide. We made vitamin balls that we were able to feed directly into the mouths of several elephants. We trekked through the jungle with a baby elephant feeding it plenty of yellow bananas. We then went in a muddy pool of water and a large elephant sat down for us while we rubbed mud all over it. Then later we went to a waterfall pool where we used a special tree bark to scrub soapy suds on the elephant and then rinse with water. Bathrooms were available at various stops. The snacks we were given after the trek were delicious. I highly recommend this ethical elephant sanctuary. We chose this one because they do not stress their elephants out with tourists riding them.
We loved the afternoon with the elephants. We got to make their food. We saw how they make paper out of the dung. We got to see the elephants up close. We were able to feed them. We got in the lake with them and wash them. People at the company were amazing. They were great with us and the elephants. The elephants seem very happy and well taken care of. Highly recommend this experience.
It was an amazing experience and you can really tell they care about the elephants and respect them. I’d recommend it to anyone!
This was a bucket experience for us, and we were not disappointed! My impression of this sanctuary was that it seemed like a super high-end luxury spa for these elephants! You get the sense that they are revered and very well taken care of. We did a private half-day tour and it was excellent. We did all the things – making the vitamin ball, feeding, mud washing and rinsing off the elephants. It was amazing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
One of the highlights of our Thailand adventure. First off we were served an excellent lunch. The handlers were very knowledgeable and taught us about all things elephant. What fun we had feeding the elephants and some of us went in the water with them.
