Phu Foi Lom is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 41340, Thailand
Foi lom is divided into 2, the first is the arrival area, and the second is the forest/mountain area. Under a clear blue sky i visited the arrival area flower garden, shown on the web.. Quite disappointing by it s small size, lack of flower varieties and services. All blooming flowers at this time of the year ( December 17 2016 ) can be found in most European and American gardens, i had hope to find Thai flowering plants. Bring your food and picnic\ with the family, vendors offer bbq chicken and Thai salad. The ride in the countryside is quite pleasant featuring various landscapes, farms, cultures with a few mountains as background.
Half a day trip grom Udon. Nice garden however compared with the Keukenhof in The Netherlands very simple. But the view is wonderful. From the viewpoint you can look down I guess more than 100 km. Great.
Came to Phu Foi Lom first time in August 2017 after HEAVY rainfalls. We were totally alone in the place, and due to tropical rainstorm we decided to come back at a later stage. Then, yesterday, 8 January 2018, we came back to a park and area looking soooo beautiful. We spent most of our time in the flower parks, and not so much time in the mountains, and, oh boy, what beautiful flowers. There were a lot more people this time, but the people are spread out on a wast area.I would recommend everyone who like flowers, peace and quite, and a beautiful view to come and spend time at Phu Foi Lom.
This Garden was built for the Thai Queen in 1992. Beautiful Flowers everywhere. There are chalet that you can book. Or Camping ground is available. Many local families have picnics here. Worth visiting although quite a distance away. Remember to stop at the Strawberry farm on the way to try the Strawberry Wine and Liquor.
This is one of the many places you can incorporate into a day trip around the Udon Thani area. Probably an hours drive from town and is about 600m above sea level. The garden areas are not massive but there’s enough there to be worth a visit. The arrangements are very nice and colourful. The place is kept tidy and clean. Maybe a morning visit would better as in the afternoon it’s quite hot and not as enjoyable.
Visited with some local friends and had a great time. Manicured gardens and peaceful ponds. The highlight for me was a walk on the Pha Yiap Trekking Trail (check out my YouTube video) which was, educational, as well as entertaining, – complete with dinosaurs, story boards and even a museum. Well worth checking out, if one is in Udon Thani …I’ll be back.
A very popular place to visit and then look back to Udon Thani. As there are not many good camping sites this is one I would stay at again. Clean and easy access with out any danger for children.
This would be just considered a regular park in Europe, it’s pretty unspectacular, there’s a few flower beds here and there with the plants being left in plastic pots for ease of removal / replacement. There wasn’t a huge variety of plants on show when we were there but it must be quite difficult to grow some of them in Thailand. A great addition is the new coffee bar with raised platforms that have tables and benches which allows a better view over the local countryside and Udon Thani in the distance. There’s not many tourist attractions in Udon Thani so this is one of the better ones available. Tip – don’t get sucked into the 280 baht per punnet strawberry scam outside the park, the same will cost you 100 baht in town and they aren’t grown locally anyway.
Relaxing garden and viewpoints to enjoy the valley. Recommend to visit in the early morning or late afternoon sunset, and less hot too.
I found the park clean, neat, and pretty Empty on a weekday morning. Worth a walk, possibly pack a picnic lunch.
