  1. Lots and lots of various speed boat companies can take you to Koh Samet from this pier. There’s also a regular boat, which is slower, but much cheaper.

  2. NUAN THIP SEA PORT are big sea port group service for traveller whom would like to go SAMED Island. They have many boat size for service such as big and speed boat service. Also car park service 100 THB/Night.

  3. This week I am playing host and tour guide for friends from Australia and today I took them to the interesting old fishing town of Ban Phe, about 20 km east of Rayong. One port of call was Nuanthip Pier, which is the main jumping off point for tourists catching a ferry across to Koh Samet (Samet Island). But Nuanthip is also a thriving market with hundreds of stalls selling almost exactly the same thing – dried squid and prawns of all shapes and sizes.Rayong dried squid is famous and Thai tourists who visit Ban Phe rarely return home without stocking up on packets of this tasty delicacy. When you look at the row upon row of dried squid stacked meters deep on the stalls you wonder if there is any squid left in the sea

  4. Being naïve, paid the rip off price 2000baht > 2people/2 ways to Semed.. No help with bags, no life jackets, approx. 10 people in boat.. Lesson>>Check around for prices at pier

  5. Bought speed boat return ticket which costs much more than ferry – but we were told this was best. When we tried to return from the island a few days later we were surprised to learn this company’s speed boats do not run before 11am – this was NOT communicated at all to us when purchasing the tickets. This late boat would mean we’d miss our connecting bus and flight. We called one of the staff members who told us that we could get the early ferry and get a refund from their desk. Went to desk and staff were very rude and refused to give refund. If I were you, I’d choose another speed boat operator or just get a one way ticket. There were many other companies running speed boats early from the island, and the regular ferry begins early.

  6. Nuan Thip Pier in Ban Phe is the main pier for ferries, speedboats and other craft taking tourists to Koh Samet. With all the adverse comments about speedboard operators by other TA reviewers, I am surprised that anyone let’s themselves be suckered into paying an exorbitant amount to across by speedboat. The ferries take 40 minutes and cost THB 100 return per person. The trip across is leisurely and relaxing. When you arrive at Nadan Pier on Koh Samet you will find fleets of “song tau”, bench seated pick up trucks that run taxi services all around the island. The fare from Nadan Pier to Sai Kaew, the most popular beach on the island, is THB 20 per person, but commensurately more the further down the island you want to go.Your on holiday, so relax and give the speedboat operators a big miss.

  7. This is the pier we usually use to go over to Koh Samed. Last year, two Japanese friends got burned by the hotel scam they run at the ticket place. They ask if you have a hotel, and if you say no they tell you that it’s required for you to have a hotel booked before you go…which is total BS. They do this so they can get booking commissions and kickbacks. So just say you have a hotel. Other than that, the pier is like all the rest…a crappy bathroom and a bunch of souvenir shops. They do have a nice little coffee shop there though.

  8. This place is a scam – they will all pressure you to pay the speedboat which costs between 600-1000baht for a return journey!!!! Which takes 15 mins – alarm bells start to immediately ring. We then enquiries about public wooden boat – most wouldn’t entertain us but they one lady confirmed it departs at 9.30am and is 100 baht for the a return journey per person. The staff inside the building argued it costs 200, we highlighted the internet and (lady that informed us) show that it is actually 100 – we were then confronted with lots of screaming ticket sellers – I did not rise to this and firmly reminded them that the price is 100 and that they should stop ripping people off. I was then dragged by my arm by one of the hysterical women outside of the main building to the official slow boat ticket office and the price was 100 return!!! The staff here were excellent and we bought our tickets and were on our way! Please don’t go in the main ticket building, go outside around the side to buy your ticket. Who in there right mind would pay for a speedboat!

  9. Use Naunthip pier to Koh samet. Do not use Ban Phe pier because they will rip you off. Slow boat cost 100 baht one way. Do not book return as they will rip you off. Do not book return Taxi but call Bolt by App as its the cheapest. Taxi company will rip you off on the pier. Return from Koh samet cost 60 baht for slow boat. On the pier in Rayong on Naunthip or Ban phe pier you can get hold off a captain and it cost around 40 to 50 baht. We went to Ban Phe Pier on 22 november 2022 to go by slow boat. 2 big ladies at Ban Phe pier was very keen to sell us return trip to Koh Samet/jomtien for 2 people 800 baht. I knew it was to to ekspensive but my sister went along. Then the big lady wanted to sell us taxi ride to Jomtien when we came back. Price 800 baht. Since Bolt wanted 861 baht i thought okey. The bolt driver to Rayong had 1.000 baht because he thought Rayong was a long trip. Called a friend and sold the trip to him for 1000baht.( Quite common in Thailand) so 800 to return to Jomtien was fine but i found it strange since Bolt is 861 baht. I learned why when we had spend to lovely days on our bounty Island . Koh Samet is a lovely place. Blue water and nice little town. Been there several times. After 2 days we went to the main Pier on Koh samet. Since there was 2 hours till our boat would come we bought a one way ticket to 60 baht. YES 60 baht so why did we pay 800 baht return. We arrived at Sri ban phe pier. A lady picked us up on a scooter like car with seats and when we came back to Ban Phe Pier I confronted the big ladies and as always “we dont understand”. Then i was pissed and they understood. We will refund 400 baht the big lady said. We sat down and they said taxi would come. Stil no refund 400 baht. We waited 30 minutes and no taxi and no refund. Again i asked for refund and taxi but no she does not have a taxi though we paid 800 baht up front. She could send us to Jomtien in tourist van but we paid for small car. She complained she must pay driver ekstra to take us so i could have 200 baht refund because she needed 200 baht out of MY refund to driver. Jesus Christ. I gave up and she found small car to take us after all. I took the 200 baht and called her a cheat. So thats why you do not pay Anything in advance and go to Naunthip pier because i have never been ripped off there. Do visit Koh samet. Its a lovely Pearl. Always reed the signs and do not use local dealers.

  10. purchasing of big boat (ferry) and speedboat tickets can be done here on the spot. cheaper if you buy return tix; also cheaper than purchasing from online/12go.asiatimings are a bit iffy; take it with a pinch of salt. arrived slightly before 1.30pm to buy tix, expecting to catch the 2pm ferry but was told there was a 1.30pm boat departure. lucky me then! there are also signs that says boat will depart when there are 20 pax so… ??‍♀️mini-bus tickets to bangkok/other places can also be bought here when you return from koh samet. bought a tix to bangkok for 200baht when prices on the island were 400baht for ???. again, timings are a bit iffy. bought tix for supposedly 12.30pm bus but it came at 12pm. not complaining but plan your eating and pee times in advance!
