An unforgettable experience that will stay with you… Easy road access from Bangkok and surrounding area and well worth a one time visit!!!
Having travelled over most of Southeast Asia I can say this is the largest one I have seen. If you can see the photo you would realise how big it is, just bylooking at the hand and fingers. It is a place definately worth visiting
To see the tallest Buddha statue in Thailand and the 9th tallest statue in the world is simply amazing.
We debated whether to visit this temple and decided to go and were so glad we did, it was amazing, the temples around the Buddha are beautiful and the Buddha which can be seen from a long way away is so impressive, like nothing you experience in Europe. We queued with the locals to touch the fingers and have a prayer or wish and we loved the experience, it is very popular with the Thai tourists and we did not see any other European tourists when we went but we would say if you get the chance go and see this you won’t forget it.
Recommended by my driver. He told us this is the largest Buddha in Thailand and many Thai came to visit too.
What an amazing monument for the people of Phuket, I was in awe of the statue and the stunning views from atop the mountain. If visiting the area do not miss this.
Built in 2008, this is the largest in Thailand, and 7th in the world. Not the best place to visit on a hot day, as it is on a marble pedestal, although shelter is provided for those lining up to pray at the fingertips. While the temple grounds of Wat Muang has several other attractions, the immediate area of the statue is largely simple and plain, except for a row of statues of kings and queens that greet pilgrims who wait in line. Bring an umbrella and water if you decide to stroll around the platform.
An amazing destination for an excursion. Walking to the Great Buddha and touching three of his fingers is an holy act for local and foreign visitors.
