  1. I stayed here for a few days, years ago… It was a quiet place, with friendly people and without tourists. The simple hotel was actually built on stilts in the fishing harbour, and I cherish the memories of this friendky place.

  2. After asking several local people including police officers, all of who proved to be so friendly&willing to be of help in telling the way (as always in Thailand), I managed to get to the scenic point to enjoy the view overlooking the Myanmar-side coastline, along with a great sense of achievement 555+ One of the nearby residents who happened to pass by was kind enough to take a photo of me w/my car in front of the “Narrowest Point in Siam” board. For those aspiring to visit the place, watch out the “Danshingkhon – Myanmar” traffic sign when closing into the Point’s vicinity (see attached photo), and ask one of the local people how to proceed the final stretch to the Point. Wish U good luck!!

  3. It would take you little more than a hop, skip and a jump to travel across Thailand from the Gulf of Siam to the Cambodian border at Klong Yai, in Thailand’s south eastern province of Trat. Here the border is just 480 meters. But like many international boundaries, it was not always like this. For centuries this area was part of the mighty Khmer (Cambodian) Empire, and in the late 19th Century the French, who had colonized Cambodia, occupied Trat and other parts of south eastern Siam, claiming that traditionally this was Khmer territory. There was a brief Franco-Thai war in 1900, that saw this area returned to Thailand.Sometimes you will see the Thai province of Prachuap Khiri Khan, in south west Thailand claiming to have the narrowest strip. But what they have is the narrowest strip of land between the Gulf of Siam and the Myanmar border, and it measures 6.8 km, not the short 460 meters here at Klong Yai.

  4. …steep stairs uphill provide an awesome view over the sea, maybe great for avid sunset photographers, but for the rest, just a tick in the box for being here.

  5. Probably some of the last wild Thailand, not many people and beautiful we rode through on motor bike tour loved this part of thailand

  6. Don’t blink or you will pass right by this place on your way to or from the border. As advertised its the narrowest part of Thailand with Cambodia on the far side of the nearby mountain and the sea close by . There’s not much to do here besides taking a photo or two and considering just how narrow this place in Thailand is. Not worth a special trip but if you want to stop forfive or ten minutes it’s interesting.

  7. Measure only 450 m from the coast to Thai-Cambodia border on the mountain, this place is considered to be the narrowest part of Thailand. There was nothing here (actually, it should be improved into a significant landmark), but worth a stop to take some photos if you are during the trip to Ban Hat Lek Border market.
