Mukdahan Tower is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Southern End of Town, Thailand
The base of the tower has an informative museum of local history and the indigenous peoples who settled the area which some may find interesting. Items are labeled in English. Good exercise walking the steps to the top, but one may catch one’s breath at each level. Views of surrounding area are good. This is a nice stop for someone with a little time to kill and a little curiosity of the area. It’s certainly not an item for a “bucket list”, however.
If you come here, you will not be disappointed with the historical data of Mukdahan Province, because here is the Museum of TA. The history. Which here collect evidence and historical data of the province as well. Have the staff to provide information. The tower is the mirror room overlooking the landscape has sides. And can be looked as the big Buddha. If you want to travel from Bangkok to Mukdahan can travel in many ways. If you want to go by bus, 999 tour company. The price is about 450 baht
This tower is truly well over rated as I found out, Very untidy surrounding , litter building materials all over the road , For me I was a disappointing visit, Not worth the time and effort of finding the place.
This was the second time to the tower, it was good to see they have painted the tower and is looking much better. The gardens are always kept clean and maintained. There is not lot to do there but it worth the visit and you can get some great photos.
Tall tower situated just to the south of the main city and close to the Mekong River. Good views 360 round of Thailand and Laos. Observation deck (6th Floor) has lots of information (in Thai f course but also in English) about the significance of the areas a trade route and includes an interesting bit about crossing the river and driving through Laos and on to Vietnam (Da Nang) .Ground floor some artefacts from around the area.50 THB entrance fee for foreigners
Old run down buildings with prostitutes from loa around restaurants offer nothing great Mukdahan is a dirty city on the nakon River other city’s are really nice on river
Great vantage point to admire the whole district including the Mekong River. The historical information is very interesting and the Thai-English signage is hilarious.
Signs here tell you it’s 360 degrees of pleasure. While I wouldn’t go that far, it’s definitely worth 50 baht to see the views and the small museum.
If you’re a first time visitor in this city the panorama view of the Mekong and countryside is worth a visit ( 80 baht for foreigners/ 50 baht for Thais). There are some interesting artifacts/ antiques on the main floor. Unfortunately the area outside the tower grounds looks like a dump with its empty, dilapidated buildings and debris laying around.
