  1. Worth to good adventure for climbing up mountain with rope to see scenery of 3 bays in Prachuab Khirikhan city, reccommend to visit early morning since 6am as way up and way down mountain are the same and take water to drink there also.

  2. Those who would like to add some adventure to your beach trip, I recommend to visit Khao Lom Muak, situated in the Air Force base of Prachuap Khirikhan. The site opens to the public from 6 am to 10.30 am although it only opens during a long weekend public holiday (so plan ahead). This climb involves steps then rope; the journey up usually take approximately an hour. However, some weeks like the week I went, it took us double to triple the usual time as there were many tourists. As we have to share the same route up and down, we had to alternate the people going up with the people returning (going down). There were a few 4 to 6 meter near-vertical rock climbing required. The admission costs nothing, but if you would like to get an achievement certificate, it will cost THB30. Mandatory equipment would be a pair of sport shoes. It is highly recommended to bring your own gloves (for climbing the rugged limestone rocks) or you could purchase a pair at the entrance for THB20.There is no shop on the top of the mountain so you should bring water or sport drink.

  3. When in this area this a view you must see. From Prachuap Beach hotel you need a bicycle, motor bike or motorised trans port, It is too far to walk. Also check if it is open. In the last couple of years it has been only open on special days. The road trip is through the air-force base and you must register. There is no fee. When you arrive there are some sights to see. First the good monkeys. You can purchase feed and hand feed these cute little guys and girls. Babies also. The climb is for mobile or somewhat fit climbers. The concrete steps are large in the beginning and then finish where you will need your arms to help you climb. Make sure it is not raining. Take a snack to eat and make sure you have a drink. This is a climb that will test most. The beaches near bye are safe to swim in, but you will have venture a long way out to swim as the waters here are very shallow. I hope that this review helps. Do enjoy. Simone.

  4. Unfortunately, the timing was bad for me, and access to Khao Lommuak was closed off by the Air Force, that controls the area of Wing 5.The climb up to the top is accessible only on public holidays, and the next one, I was told, isn’t apparently until May.However, the start-off point is about 2 kms from Prachuap town, and I took a tuktuk there, for a very reasonable 100 baht, return. You can also bike in from town, on the road that runs along to Ao Manao Bay.The day turned out wonderful, however, in spite of the closure of the path up.I was very spoilt when we visited, as the langurs were out in full display. There are 3 different troops in that one area alone, and they are well protected and coddled. You are allowed to feed them-it is not a national park, as they come down from the jungle of Khao Lommuak, to forage for food. There is a stand by the foot of the hill where you can buy boiled corn for 10 baht. These langurs have a weakness for corn and peanuts, and do not like bananas as much. The spectacles langurs are well worth a visit, just for themselves, and you can see them close up with their golden babies.Definitely recommended if, like me, seeing the langurs was high priority.

  5. This is a beautiful mountain in the Wing 5 air force base. Good for photos and there are friendly black monkeys. Access to the actual mountain is restricted and I understand it is only open on certain days of the year.

  6. This is a very nice trail but it is very steep so take your time. Some parts require upper body strength to climb especially nearing the end. Wear long sleeve short and trousers snd bring water to protect yourself from the heat and insect repellent might be a useful. The trail only opens on long weekends and allow people up until 9:00 AM. There is plenty of parking there. Upon completion you will be greeted with the views of Ao Manao and Ao Noi.
