Heritage Walking Street is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thailand
The Walking Street starts close to the market and ends near the city gates. It doesn’t matter which way you walk as the buildings are well signposted either way. The architecture is fantastic and authentic. Some buildings have their stories out the front of them. These include wonderful war stories. There are also interesting shops such as an original gun shop and a pet shop. You can also have a lovely coffee at a good coffee shops. Many of the shops open later in the day so it’s best if you go in the afternoon or evening.
We went here to kill some time in town. Maybe if you are interested in the history behind the buildings it might be worth visiting.Otherwise it looks like a small street with run down houses.
There are interesting shops from local people. During my visiting, have Thai song and many people wear Thai clothes both buyer and seller. It is many activities inside the market and the price is very cheap. Don’t miss.
Plenty of interesting stalls mainly clothes, cheap gifts and budget priced eateries. I suspect the street and it`s buildings have historical significance but I was limited by time. Kanchanaburi deserves some research before you travel !
Nice enough market, but the buildings are old and dirty so I was dissapointed. Would not travel to see this.
An old part of the town. One or two restored buildings. Nothing you won’t see in hundreds of Thai towns and you’llseen it in Bangkok.Severe lack of eating options. Don’t water your time.
