Wat Sri Panton Temple is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thanon Suriyapong By junction with Thanon Chao Fa, Thailand
This temple sparkles like gold no matter if you are visiting at dawn, dusk, or any time in between. The grounds also contains the wat’s dragon boats for the annual races.
I spotted this temple while having a Thai dessert at Pa Nim. It looked stunningly beautiful in a blue-sky backdrop. This golden temple might deceive you as an average temple, but if you look close enough, you could see magnificent craftsmanship of local artisan. Upon entering the main ordination hall, there is this seven heads of the Great Serpent or “naga” that looks so amazing. The interior is also impressive, with mural painting depicting life of Lord Buddha and the history of Nan.
Nice and beautiful temple to visit in Nan.Very easy to arrive from every place in Nan.Also can speak with the monkes around.
As I passed by this temple, I had to watch it again and again and I thought what a beautiful temple it was. The first day in Nan I didn’t have time to visit it but the day after I could not miss it. This temple was golden colored with cultural architecture. I loved it very much.
One of 40 most sacred places of worship in Nan, Thailand. The very astounding epics of life of the Lord of Buddha mural paintings and the Buddhist rites practices and boat racing headed golden dragons.
This temple is located in Nan town, convenient transportation. There is a beautifully exquisite gold-plated exterior architecture. Inside, there are beautiful murals.
…to be visited in Nan. Nearly no business around, but many nice and harmlessly curious dogs at the place. Very special and deep energy inside. Good place for meditation.
This Wat is amazing, the seven headed dragons are the best. Great place to visit, take pictures and relax.
This is a beautiful Wat located at the end of a main street of Nan that takes you out the downtown area. This is road to the Big C, Makro and also to the Immigration Office (in case you need an Extension of your Visa). We did see this temple some days before when we were cycling around visiting other temples in town but when we got closer, it was such a wonderful surprise and views because we didn’t notice it was so golden with so many incredible artworks. You must see the artworks and all paintings on the walls in detail, not only to appreciate the local art but also to understand Nan’s History as the painting depict scenes fron Nan life. It is extremely coloured and beautiful with a huge Buddha seated in the main altar. Beautiful ceilings. The minute I posted some of these pictures on my social media I was immediately inundated with questions from my friends asking me where did we find this beautiful Wat 🙂
The outstanding shiny golden temple looks fabulous. It is embellished with many beautiful relief sculptures (exterior) and colorful murals (interior). What I like most is remarkable golden statues of a pair of seven head Nagas at the entrance of the hall.
