  1. The tea plantations are fantastic. The orchards are very neat and well-maintained. The workers are mostly “hill tribe people”. Kirin and others who wear their traditional and colorful garb while working. This is no “tourist stunt”. It is just what they do every day. Relatives (Thai) live in Mae Salong Village and two days a week their kids are asked to dress in traditional mountain garb to attend school. It is a lovely token of respect. There are numerous tea houses, and various accommodations on the plantations. Many of these are very high end and expensive (like 5,000 baht nightly) but of course there are less pricey accommodations in the villages (mostly guest houses). Food and produce is good BUT do not expect to find ped (duck) on the menu. Local custom has it that IF you eat duck with a friend you will lose that friend! No kidding. They are serious about it.

  2. Choui Fong Tea is one of the place to have a cup of coffee and cake. Well the taste for green tea latte ice is better than hot and the green tea swiss roll not the best if compare to jeju island.

  3. A visit to this tea planation and tea tasting is well worth the experience. An opportunity to taste different teas should not be ignored.

  4. There are many various tea plantations around Mae Salong town and most of them is open for public. Quite a lot of them has at least r saturant on site or tea tasing rooms, some offer accommodation as well. Perfect attraction for those who love the tea and those into photography.

  5. Great place to visit with nice view. It.s good idea to have lunch over there. Their variety of dessert is very tasty. But bad luck, on the day I visited; it rained all day. ????

  6. Delicious croissant and egg muffinCoffee is great. Stunning vieuw. Really amazing to be here with this vieuw

  7. The tea plantations had been promoted as a must-visit stop for most Chinese group tour. The place itself is extremely well constructed as a tourist attraction even for individual travelers. The overall landscape of the plantation is extremely interesting for visitors especially from far-away land. Since tea has identified as the Asian culture, its planting, harvesting, to manufacturing are valuable information. I would recommend a serious visit to any tea plantation and absorb any information you deem interesting. You might even end up buying some of the tea product.

  8. First there is some confusion here when mentioning the tea plantations: tea101 is close to Mae Salong, while Choui Fong is much farther toward Chiang Rai. The latter is nicer and offers a much more professional welcome however both are relatively small operations and their plantations are really not impressive when compared to those in India, Sri Lanka or elsewhere. At least when we visited there was no option for visiting the production factory (in both places).

  9. It is a place where the weather is good. It is a place to take pictures. It has a lot of tae trees. There are tea that tastes good. I bought the tea back.

  10. The trip to the tea plantation is up in the hills near the Burma Border. It is located at the top of the mountain and is terraced. The tea is harvested every 45 days. They harvest a different location every day.
