I really enjoyed touring the gardens here and reading about the royal family’s patronage of the site. There is a small gift shop on site and a small coffee shop, if I remember correctly.
This royal project have many outdoor and also indoor gardens for walking togethef with coffee shop selling royal projects product, restaurant with reasonable price, and accommodation. Accom is recommended making advanced reservation. Good place to stay and not too far from tourist attraction, like, inthanon peak point, kewmaepan, and wachirapoom waterfall. Good and recommend for visiting.
I recommend this place if you enjoy well organized natural place.Start your trip by reaching Doi Inthanon national park (Thai adult 50 bht, Foreign adult 300 bht, a car 30 bht….sorry i don’t remember children and motor bike price)Drive to Baan Mae Klang Luang, stop for a coffee, then take a local tour guide to enjoy 2-3 hours trekking (400 bht for guide)It is a really nice route to boost up our life energy.After trekking, go to Inthanon royal project (20 bht for entrance fee no matter age or nationality we are, this is awesome! …Hope Thai government learns more how to treat foreign tourists equally)Enjoy the floral park. Enjoy royal project kitchen, food is tasty and reasonable price)My suggestion is to avoid weekend trip.No need to buy too much to carry. It is the same price with other royal project shops in town, except some products you might not find in other shops)
Good taste of food ,beautiful view suitable for relax and inhale oxygen . If would like to have launch recommend to receive first .
The place has a nice garden and can provide opprtunity for a gentle walk that mr elderly father can manage. However, the food at the restaurant needs to be improved. The vegetables were really fresh. The Roasted Pork turned out to be braised pork that tasted like it came out of a can. Fried vegetables were actually boiled. All the food, including stir fries, were cold by the time it reached our table.The place is busy and the staff were not able to cope with the crowd. They are nice and tried their best. I think it will be a nicer experience if we visited during a less busy time.
We had been to visit this Royal Project on a previous occasion but didn’t hesitate to visit a second time as we knew the project would have developed further. We weren’t disappointed. For the purposes of this review, I am not talking about the restaurant which was, in the opinion of all our party, poor. This project was initiated by the late King Bhumipol a number of years ago in, what appears to have been a very successful attempt, to stop local people deriving their income from growing opium poppies and change to growing vegetables and flowers. The project covers a large area and nearby hillsides are terraced and covered by polytunnels. The gardens are superb with a large variety of plants, shrubs and some magnificent trees all surrounding a small lake complete with black swans. There is a very interesting fernery with a comprehensive collection of shade loving plants and, in another part of the garden, a wonderful collection of orchids and roses.Development is on going and the project had certainly changed from a couple of years ago. There is a fairly large car park, toilets, coffee shop and gift shop. Strolling around this project made for a very enjoyable afternoon.Highly recommended.
It is a good place to do a short walk inside the station. Then try food at the restaurant. It’s super Yummy and High Quality. I like Roti with Hunglay curry it is a local dish and also fried mushroom. I like everything I ordered. HaHa
This wonderful project was set up 40 years ago by the former King of Thailand to encourage the local farmers to grow vegetables and flowers instead of opium poppies which thrive in these conditions. The results are plain to see as there are many poly tunnels in the hills housing more environmental friendly plants! Keep up the good work.
Nestled among the gardens of the research station this is the only restaurant within the agricultural research station which is within the park. Unbeknownst to us is that you pay twice. Once for the park which for non-Thai is pricey then again for the research center.The food was good and a popular tourist spot for van loads of visitors. There’s hiking trails around to a nearby waterfall but the signs are a bit ambiguous. There’s also several lodging options around the station area.
