Nong Bua Luang is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Ban San Maket, 57150, Thailand
This place basically consists a lake and all around are small shops (build out of bamboo and roofing sheets) which sell some basic food and drinks, and rent out rafts for 100 B/h (navigator included). You can also just sit down in some kind of Bamboo hut just next to the lake, to avoid plain sunshine. This place is mainly visited by Thais, and gets very busy in the hot season, especially around Songkran. There are many of this shops, they differ not greatly, but anyhow I would maybe look out for some Flags and choose some that are not faded by the sun for years. If the flags look a bit newer, chances are good that this shop was undergoing some renovation recently, means a new owner. Chances are great they put some work into their huts and rafts too.
Great authentic lunch on a bamboo raft, while floating on the lake. In some occasions, they even bring your ordered food to you by boat. We where the only western tourists here, which made it even more cool!
