10 thoughts on “Chiang Mai celadon

  1. lots of selection. friendly staff. It was a hot day and they gave me a drink. I even enjoyed looking at the discount area.

  2. Enter the Chaing Mai Celadon and discover their ceramic collection, and expanded textiles section. You’ll also find the Raming Tea House at the rear of the gallery. A great combination of craft and food. Enjoy.

  3. Amazing hand made pottery and given the full tour by the owner, especially the workshop where everything is hand made and painted. Artefacts are not cheap but quite unique and very well worth a visit

  4. If you love pottery this is the place for you. Many beautiful pieces and you free to walk around the acres of land and walk through where artists make things.

  5. The one-day workshop at Chiang Mai Celadon at Doi Saket was the most memorable hands-on activities for parents with young children. The owner, Pap Tassanee, took excellent care and hospitality in every detail of the activities including celadon pottery making, carving, roasting, and painting. She also offered Thai dessert demonstration and allowed us to make “banana in sticky rice”. Sumptuous lunch and coffee break with snacks were also included in the package. Truly worth the time & cost in the super beautiful traditional Thai houses.

  6. What a treat to watch artist make and paint these beautiful pieces of pottery! Their talent, patience and skill level are beyond belief. Every piece, no matter how large or small is delightful. After visiting the factory and then walking through the showroom, one’s appreciation level for each piece is magnified. Caution–leave your wallet at home; otherwise one may be tempted to buy, buy, buy!

  7. Chiang Mai Celadon has several showrooms of exquisite celadon products – ranging from tiny coffee cups to huge urns. The range of decoration is amazing going from the traditional crazed cracked green glazes to exquisitely hand-painted unique works of art. But the showrooms are not as exciting as the factory where artisans are creating these art pieces by hand. A must see visit when in Chiang Mai.

  8. We wanted to see celadon being made as well as have the chance to buy a few souvenirs so made the trip to Chiang Mai Celadon in DoiSaket. On arrival we were invited to watch a short video before looking around the workshop where you saw the various processes in operation. There was also a stunning showroom of beautiful pieces, suitable for all budgets, but really nice quality. All the buildings are grouped in a lovely green compound which makes it a particularly nice place to visit and there are several traditional wooden buildings full of beautiful pieces which you can look around. Also, the lady owner was particularly welcoming.

  9. The setting is beautiful with garden and Thai styled buildings. Impressive worship where you can watch the different stages of production and staff are very friendly and welcoming. The showroom and shop are amazing.

  10. A beautiful experience and if you love quality pottery it is the place to go. Their technique only creates to shades of glaze. A beautiful sage green and a vibrant blue. So much to choose from but so little luggage space. They have a sale section on the left as you come out of the main building which is worth a look. Hopefully we can have more shipped home.
