Was a great experience and combined with another local site, made a good day out.An easy drive from Nangrong.
Well worth to swing by here if you are in Buriram, it is a dorment volcano that nowadays have a very nice Buddha statue on top.At the foot of the volcano there are some small shops and a place or two to eat, the walk up is not to bad but a few benches along the way would have been nice. The view from the top is splendid and well worth the walk.Sadly there is (as usual) quite alot of litter around in the forest part of the park, but as I was leaving there was a school class cleaning up outside the stairs. Big plus for that!There are some interesting looking signs around describing the flora and fauna of the forest sadly only in thai. Bring a lock if you are with a loved one and put by the bridge, there is a heart shaped piece of art made for it on one end of the bridge that spans the old crater
We didn’t have time to explore the grounds but did enjoy going to the top of the sleeping volcano and pay respects to the giant golden Buddha. Very cool because you can see the skyline of the city and it’s a peaceful atmosphere.
I have been this place before.This is my third time.Everything was change and looks better than the past.If you would like to see the big Buhda that is located on the top of mountain.You have to take stair up, but you don’t like to walk you can take transportation.I don’t have any idea how much it cost.I recommend walk is better you can see anything beside the long stair and road especially three and flowers.When you are on top, you will see overall Buriram city.It’s looks so good.Eventually, My father and me enjoy this trip.
An enjoyable time in the morning taking the steps up to the buddha and looking over the main stretch of Buriram.Car and bike parking provided, we went early in the morning so was luck to go just before the hoards of tour buses arrived.We came with my girlfriends family who wanted to see the big golden buddah, after walking the steps ae had to cut out stay short. The buddah at the top of the volcano has the usual prayer candles, incense sticks, flower bouquets etc but here you also have super views over burriram. Once at the top you also have ancient relics of a small temple to view.A souvenir shop sells drinks and snacks but also offers car trips around the complex to see all other things for a small fee.Photographers are there to take photos and frame a picture of you for 150b if you want.The walk up the steps is a good exercise with plenty of squirrels to look at and also listen to the tropical birds.We only managed a couple of the things to do but what we done and saw was enjoyable, I’m sure the lava flow and suspension bridge is also worth seeing if you are here.We spent just over half an hour but with all other things to do I’m sure you could pass a couple of hours seeing things.
A place with historical information and a very nice panorama view of the city which you can see 360 around Buriram
It was a hot walk but totally worth it, the park is clean and well managed with clear signposts, walkways, stairs… beautiful big shiny Buddha at the top with a big viewing deck for sweeping views over the city and surroundings
This was a really nice place to visit, hike around, learn some stuff, relax, and enjoy the views. We also met some really nice people there, both local Thai and foreigners. I very much enjoyed being there.
Well just hiked up in 36 c heat … iam 75 !!! Its a good hike .. then down the other side to the cable bridge over the crater… the budda is awesome but its all pretty cool
I had a nice peaceful time walking up to the Buddha, which wasn’t too hard but was hot! Then I went down the other side over the cable bridge and the old volcano. It’s worth a look around for an hour or 2. There were more things to see but way too far on foot.
