  1. It’s out in a national park with simple camping space available if you are OK with camping but I like my comfort so early start to get into the site via nice twisty hilly roads can be a bit cool for the usual Thai weather so a light jacket might be good idea then you can walk the 2 extra KM to peak to view the countryside. There is a small charge for this section.

  2. A free attraction with formations that seem impossible to happen. You are free to wander around and touch the stones. Recommended A+

  3. The Stonehenge of Thailand accepted but it is not and nothing remotely similar. The myth about the stones looking like a (Mushroom, boat, elephant, turtle and chedi) well I spent 2 hours looking at them from every conceivable angle and I defy anyone to tell me how they see those shapes! I thought it was an interesting place to visit and worth a look but not as what it has been hyped up to be. Adding to the hype there are signs which say if you prostrate yourself to the stones you will have good health, good luck in battle etc!!! It is obvious there has been money invested in the facilities further up the road from the stones but they were not open when I visited midweek and the camping area looks very inviting. The “attraction” had no fee unlike the view point which is approximately 3 kilometers further on and I declined paying the fee of 5 times the rate of Thai people to have a look at the surrounding countryside. The main problem I found with this venue is there are no other attractions or sights to be seen within a reasonable distance so it must stand out alone, however it does not. If there was an entrance fee I would suggest a pass on this place but if not I do suggest an internet search and find out the true nature of this phenomena which is a story on its own.

  4. The east of the province is part of the Khorat Plateau. There are Four national parks are in the province. Tat Ton National Park is in the northwest, featuring some scenic waterfalls and dry dipterocarp forests. The biggest attraction of the Sai Thong National Park in the west is the Sai Thong waterfall, but also some fields of the Siam tulip. Similar fields can be found in the Pa Hin Ngam National Park in the southwest, scheduled to be gazetted in the future. This park’s name (“beautiful rock forest”) derives from the strangely-shaped rock formations found there. Phu Laenkha National Park covers around 200 km² of forested hills northwest of Chaiyaphum city.It is interesting to spend a few hours. The drive there is also interesting.

  5. Nice half day trip from Chaiyaphum, especially with a motorbike as the streets leading to there are in perfect condiition. Then you see that impressive Stone Constellation, walk around a bit, enjoy the low temperatures and the sight, have a snack at some rare food stands there. The road goes a bit further but i did not go there – maybe its worth it to come to some view points. My Garmin GPS already stated: Now navigate offroad:-) If you like you can stop on the way back (or to) Mor Hin Khao at Tatton National Park/Waterfall and make it a day trip.

  6. If you are in Chaiyaphum, then you should visit Mor Hin Khao. There are 5 “pillars” and each has it’s own mythological story. Travel further up the road and there is an area with many more smaller “pillars.” Further on is Phahuanak View Point which has fantastic views of the plains below. We sat on a rock which was perched at the top of the almost vertical cliff face and took great photos.

  7. Nice quiet place to really just see some standing stones. Your not going to be blown away, but your in Chaiyaphum probably for other reasons, so visit if you have time. 30 minutes is enough. Then move on to the national park

  8. Took Wife and friends here and camped the night. Barbecued and had drinks with the ranger.Amenities good and just an awesome place to camp
