  1. We spent an hour or so here, it was very busy with local people picnicking on raised bamboo shelters over the lake. Many people, mainly children swimming in the lake on tubes. We were invited to share a platform with a couple of local people from Lopburi which was very nice of them, as all platforms were full, it was Sunday lunchtime. We had a good somtam, chicken and iced teas. A nice way to have lunch in a very local situation.

  2. I came here during the Sangkran Festival by motorcycle. It took about an hour and half to get here from Lopburi town. If you come in by motorcycle during Sangkran, there will be plenty of people to put baby powder on your face and there will be a ton of people and music.I cannot say how this place is during non-holiday times, but it is probably worth a stop if you go out to the Sunflower fields on a weekend. I am guessing that the reservoir is probably empty on weekdays. Basically you can rent a little hut and have a picnic! You can go swimming or ride on a tube behind a jet ski.

  3. You can order food from riverbank restaurants at a very modest price. Obviously sunset is an ideal time to go. I went as part of an improvised tour including a bat’s cave, a temple with peacocks, fields of sun flowers and a famous temple with Buddha’s footprint. Some of the larger restaurants around the lake have live music. I will revisit this place to explore further.

  4. Tranquil, nice and peaceful place. Just avoid weekends or long national days off since will become very crowded.

  5. We went here for the afternoon, had a taxi take us and he waited while we enjoyed a few drinks and ate near the lake. Watching the sunset here is fantastic and the drive from town to the reservoir is great, it gives you an excellent look into rural Thailand that you’re not going to get on your own.

  6. I moved to thailand to live there, after Bangkok i had a person that recomended this… i went there… i from South African territory was in awe to see auch a beautiful country, my experience was 5*..although thinking back, it was beautiful or maybe i was just in a hype.

  7. Nice trip with friends to enjoy together the ‘train’ alongside the dam. When we went it was really windy, so bring with you some protection. Site at the far end of the train tour good for nice group photos.

  8. I drove to the lake early afternoon. Looked at a few places that were situated some floating on the lake and some beside it. I stopped at one that was floating and walkedon via a rather rickety pontoon. The only seating seemed to be on the floor, now I have dodgy knees, so I asked for a beer and explained as well as I could for a seat. Not sure he understood, but sure enough a seat and a bucket of ice and a Chang beer appeared. I sat there for a couple of hours. It was very relaxing. With a lunchtime visit.

  9. Amazing place Bott Camping a dream of location we had a stunning time .The sunset are just unreal . Next time we will come back.
