Lawa Island is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thailand
A little way off from the other islands of Phang-nga bay but was still a part of the day tour trip. Has beautiful beach great for swimming or just relaxing in the shade of the trees along the island.
Beautiful and secluded beach if you do not visit during the holiday season…Romantic place to spend your evening if you have a partner with you. They sell good street food and drinks here if you’re a little hungry.
Our visit to Lawa Island was our last stop on an all-day tour so we didn’t get there till mid-afternoon. The brochures had photos of a lovely beach to sun bake on. Please take note that if it is high tide when you arrive there will be no beach so our big boat was anchored and we swam in the deep water. The water was warm even though it was an overcast day. If you are a strong swimmer you can swim from the boat to shore. If not I would suggest wearing a lifejacket as there is a reasonably strong current. Some people needed the crew to come and collect them on the canoe as they could not swim back to the boat. Weaker swimmers can still do this activity, just wear your lifejacket, have a buddy and keep close to the boat.
Lawa island was not planned but it was the part of the tour we selected and now we feel it was the best decision ever to take this tour. The island is a beauty with pure white sand and awesome beach. Photogenic place with awesome natural beauty ….
This small island was taken on the tour of Phang Nga bay. The place is reached by canoe and good for short stay and little swimming etc. One can canoe himself if the paddler allow.
It’s a nice place to visit with your friends. The island is reached by canoe. A place good place for swimming and stay a few minutes.
View it from the boat or get around in kayak. Do not swim or attempt to get onto the beach. Sharp rocks buried under foot thick mud and blooms of jellyfish.
We went here as part of a tour with a promise of great snorkeling. Yes there are a few varieties of fish but no coral. Maybe I have been spoilt but, after paying a National Park fee to snorkel, I was expecting better. A lot of tours go here, as part of their itinerary, and it was very busy. After giving up on the snorkeling we enjoyed a beer in the shade as this was the best option to get shade on the beach as there were fees for everything. If you are happy to have a beer on the beach at the end of the day it is an ok stop.
Best swimming island when visiting the other islands.sea is interesting green tone.you can swim comfort and lay back in the tiny beach
This beach resides in the Phanga Nga Bay. I was taken there via a kayak from the Hong island halting point as part of the Island tour that I booked from Phuket. The beach is small, but it was very calm. It was not at all crowded like the other ones. You can swim in the waters, relax on the beach or just enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of the surroundings.
