Came here for two weeks and enjoyed every second. A clean gym with a great atmosphere, the staff and trainers are very polite and very funny too, love to socialise, but when it comes to training they know how to work you. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. I was lucky enough to be there for Chokchai’s birthday too. Top bloke.
The best place to stay and train all in under one roof. The staffs are all helpful, English speaking staff. The trainers are all great, I have improved a lot in my Muay Thai and overall fitness.
Its not as fancy as Tiger or anything but the best people are here. I come here every time I visit Phuket and they have the best and friendly instructors. Great place for fitness and community making!
I would like to let all the people know about how this Camp Managing Director “Chusak” scammed me and they trying to cover the truth. The guy in charge at Chokchai Camp “Andrew” find a gangster in Malaysia threatened me nearly 6 months and do some really bad things to me. “Andrew” at Chokchai Muaythai he told me if I post anything I can’t get my money back and he know a lot of people around the world they can play with me, I felt my life threatened, if anything happen to me, which is him ask someone do this to me.Andrew brother “Stan Lee” in Malaysia warned me I will die if I post anything. but this is a facts and I waiting to see what can they do to me. Now I don’t care anymore, I want to post this because I hope no more victims like me.
Chokchai is my favorite Muay Thai camp in Phuket. It will feel like home and they make you work just like you want but they won’t let you down with your objectives. I know a lot of people go to Tiger and other well known names. I prefer Chokchai because it’s not as crowed so there’s a better ratio trainees/instructors. And they have a package with Titan Fitness if you want to add weight and cross fit to your fitness holidays. Recommended big time!
I can honestly recommend the accomodation. It’s reasonably priced and the rooms are spacious with natural light. I’ve stayed here on two different visits, even though I don’t train at Chokchai because I’m not keen on Muay Thai training. If you’re training anywhere on the Soi, it’s lovely to stay here. The staff are friendly without being intrusive, and it feels like home.
Our group consisted of 2 families- 4 adults & 5 kids ages 4-10 on vacation in Karon, Phuket. They picked us up from our hotel (for a fee) and drove us the 20 minutes their gym – very convenient! We did an hour-long private lesson in the afternoon. They were patient to teach us the basics of Muay Thai- while also giving us a good workout. They had plenty of instructors available to work with the different levels represented in our group. The gym and all the equipment we used were exceptionally clean (which is not always the case at other gyms- I’ve used some pretty gross boxing!) And most important of all, they were great with the kids! Everyone had a great time!
I trained for two months at Chokchai Muay Thai Camp during the summer, it’s a beginner friendly camp where you get to learn proper technique with coaches that take the time to correct your mistakes, the student-to-coach ratio is very good so you can get a lot of one to one attention even in group classes. If you’re a more advanced student or want to challenge yourself you can sparr with the trainers which are all experienced fighters. Chokchai staff will surely make you feel welcome so don’t hesitate to pay them a visit :)- Johan
Travelling with two kids (an 8 year old and 10 year old), we found it surprisingly hard to find any gyms where as a visiting family we could all have a small number of Muay Thai lessons to get a basic idea of the sport. Everywhere seemed focused only on serious adults, or long term courses / camps. Chok chai were amazing. Friendly and responsive both to our enquiries in advance, and with the grown ups & kids on the day. We had to structure it as private lessons, but the kids shared one teacher and were half price. Teachers were super patient at our complete cluelessness and happy for us to take lots of photos. If you’re short on time but would like to give your family a taste of Muay Thai, I’d definitely recommend Chok Chai!
