Kaeng Tana National Park is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thailand
We took a tent and camped in the park so we could get up for the sun rise, this is the first place to see the new sunrise in Thailand, the views across the Mekong over to Laos are superb, apart from the views this is a very mystical site, the walk down the face of the cliff with it’s ancient cave drawings is amazing, well worth the effort of getting there.
To see the river the holes in the granite the white pedestrian bridge and to feel the power of the river in all seasons from being gentle to being treacherous. People have great fun swimming in the clean clear water. You can hire a boat to explore the river and spend time walking around taking photos. The location makes it so special. i cycled a few times from Khongjiam the nearest town to it. A steep climb but so well worth the effort. Truly love the place will go back in October to walk around the park. Friendly shops.
Went today and was quite surprised by its location. Right on the river and has some great places to visit. If you go check out the cave and waterfalls. Make sure to bring snacks and water.
Really quiet and wonderful place to visit. Make sure you bring water and food if your going to hike the trails. It is a great place to explore and to see nature in Thailand. I will be coming back. I would like to camp their sometime.
Kaeng Tana National Park is the same as all national park. With the right weather when activity is possible outdoor, the park offers unlimited potential for nature lovers. However when the weather does not cooperate, the activities greatly reduced. When we visited today, the temperature was very high and it was impossible to stay in the sun more than few minutes at time. We visited two of the most popular attractions for day visit, the rapids and the suspension bridges. Both were great to explore and enjoy with limited time. FYI the walk on the two suspension bridges with the island path in between is less than 2 km. take about 45 minutes in casual walk.
It is always a good feeling to walk in a forest. This place was clean and peaceful. We didn’t join any activity, but walking there was cool. Well preserved! Few cool bridges for photos, nice view on the river and on some temple.
Nice place, peaceful. We rent private boat that made us comfortable and all doesn’t expensive. Kids having fun to looked around by the river.
The boat trip was very nice. We got out on the rocks in the river. Many holes cut out by the water. The kids enjoyed playing on the rocks and in the water. The weather was wonderful for us, but the rocks can get very hot. We ate nearby before going on the trip.
I had a nice visit.Road in the park very well maintain and it was very beautiful. Please make time to visit
Nice overviews of the river and forest. Not the most spectacular national park in Thailand, but a very pleasant place and much less visited than other parks.
