  1. This week I have friends from Australia staying with me, so it was time to put on my tourist guide hat and show them the sights of Rayong.Included on our itinerary was a visit to Sky View Tower and Mangrove Research Center. This is a joint project of local government and local business sponsors, the leading one being IRPC PLC, a publicly listed petro-chemical company. It has re-afforested large areas of previously denuded coastal mangrove forests in Rayong to reestablish the vital eco-systems needed for the incubation of much marine life, including many species of fish, crabs and shrimps. Now you can visit these previously muddy and inhospitable areas with the safety of wooden boardwalks built about two meters above the mangrove forest floors. At the end is the four storey sky town, which gives you panoramic views of the mangrove forests, down the Rayong River, and back to the high rise buildings of Rayong city.

  2. I rode my bicycle down the wooden pathways. Exciting… at the end was a tall tower with exceptional views. Wonderful place indeed. Dont skip it, the views are great, seeing the mangrove swamp is a learning experience …

  3. I’ve popped into this place a few times, when passing through Rayong City. There’s a short stilted walk through the mangrove swamps where companies are sponsoring habitats for the crabs. And at the end of this walk a viewing tower with a pleasing view.

  4. A nice small reservation. Good water front plantation observatory. Quiet.Clean. Not easy to find. But a nice place to spend one quiet hour.

  5. Fairly small place, spent about an hour there. The info boards have the Latin names of the trees but that’s it, so if you’re looking for an educational trip this isn’t really it. Loads of crabs and I did see a monitor lizard. It’s a nice place to spend a couple of spare hours.

  6. Always good to get away from the crowds and breath some fresh air when on a break. The SVT & MRC was nice to visit although the smell of crab or some marine life was quite strong at the start of the walk but quickly dissipated as we progressed. Lovely to walk among the mangroves on the walkway provided but unfortunately the ever increasing threat of human rubbish quickly raised its ugly head as bits of float-some soon appeared here and there to spoil the “pristine” nature of the place. Worth a visit and climb up the tower to see the view of the sea and tops of the mangrove trees.

  7. Hard to find, but definitely worth visiting. One hour walk and you get the idea of mangrove forest. Good wooden path. Great tower to watch sights. Small crabs everywhere. No fee.

  8. This place has been modified and has a gigantic sky tower . I have visited a couple of days ago. You will see the mangrove forest and black crabs. Even though i have visited in the afternoon around 3 pm. , it’s not hot at all . You have to climb up the sky tower, it’s does seem scary at you walking up due to its height but it’s worth it. At the top you will see the whole city .In the forest, you will walk on a wooden bridge and you will see how the crab habitat are built. If you love to learn about nature and interested in trekking. This place is a good starter.

  9. Not a crab in sight. The mangroves are full of litter and debris. Very peaceful though as I was the only one there! Tricky to find. My taxi had to stop and ask for directions. It’s free though . I walked for maybe half an hour and that was ample
